Get your self into any where in South Boston, and ask where the Castle Island is, and most people in there will direct you to it! I am dating myself however, I fished there as a kid and adult. I fished there when the old pier was there. I witnessed a great fisherman of his time called "GILL", a mentor to allot of kids and a true hands on fisherman. He landed a 32 pound Striper on a fresh water rod, on twelve pound test line, fishing for mackerel. Sitting atop those pilings that run out to the left of the cement pier. We would walk on top of them. So I know the stripers go right by there. We used to fish them at the Summer Street bridge also. I could not tell you how they are doing in there these days. Try it, stranger things have happened!

Castle Island is part of South Boston. You see the planes fly right over it heading to Logan. . . . . To get there, make your way to Southie (should be an exit off I93 and Mass Pike) and get onto Broadway, the main street going through the town. The crossing side-streets are in alphbetical order, so when you get to N Street or O Street you are almost there. Broadway will come to an end at the water where you take a left to go to Castle Island. Plenty of parking there. I haven't caught any fish there myself, but have seen stripers pulled out of there last fall.

Yeah, you can get fish there. But be prepared to cut your tangled mess if you fish the pier with the other 30 or so yahoos on the pier. Urban combat at its worst and I won't do it anymore. If you get there early enough, take the left side of the pier, otherwise you lose lots of tackle.

some crazy people there at night. i was in my friends boat one night and they kept putting a huge spot light at us. blinding us. then they started ch#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g rocks that didnt make it all the way to the boat but close enough, then i chucked a 4oz bank sinker back towards em as a warning shot and they stoped. tell the buy with the spot light to cut it out.
