Offensive is lame when the defense takes Edelman and White out of the picture and there is no run-pass balance, KC and Buffalo are going to be real tough to win with what we have for O output.

The SuperBowl Champs played yesterday.

Who were they?

9'ers
Ravens
Pats
Chiefs

Pains me to say it, but Lamar and his Ravens seem to be riding the wave all the way to Atlanta.

:pats:

Disclaimer: I'm not saying Brady is done (as I've read on many networks), I think he's just lost so much confidence in his receivers that it's in his head. He doesn't trust many outside of Jules. Would have been awesome if Bolden recovered that tip yesterday (he's a beast!). Not sure if there was anyone in the way of the endzone, didn't look like it?
Pats need to dig deep into that playbook, the other teams have realized we're no longer that deep in the O... Bill has to know that, I just don't know how he's going to counter it. Guessing we'll be seeing more of those fleafluckers...?? I don't care how they win, as long as they do.

Tools in the offensive box last year were so much deeper, but don’t just blame the receivers, Brady missed a lot of throws and the play calling was questionable when they could have tied the game. Not counting them out, but the road they need to travel now to get to the big game is so much harder. Assuming the Ravens don’t loose the QB due to injury, they would be my bet on going all the way.

After SuperBowl 51 :eek5:......and even now with a much different set of characters), how can one lose hope? I haven't...I'm just putting aside some of my optimism, and thinking with no bias. Brady has been struggling, Offense has been struggling, and not just now, the entire season.
Defense, the Epitome :ninja:.......but they're tired, and injuries continue which open up areas of weakness. I don't see Jackson being a 20 year Al-Star like Brady...he'll be lucky to be in the league 10 years, but he's hot right now and the rest of the Ravens are "Doing their job" and drinking his cool-aid, and yes...in the words of Chris Berman, they "could go all the way!".... but I still say, "Go Pats!".

Playoffs should be interesting.

As far as TB's lack of familiarity with new young receivers maybe not going to OTA's didn't help. Still can't believe BB went into season with these TE's. Running game killed thru injuries to Devlin, Andrews, Wynn and Gronks retirement. If they go ANYWHERE this will be BB's best coaching job ever imo.

Panic? Who said anything about panic... Just asking at this point in the season, who you think the Champs are going to be?
I bleed red, blue and silver too Larry... but an apple is an apple, regardless of how I feel.
I lived through the Grogan/Eason era and so on, I think we had half-dozen QB's in 87, what a joke...so I understand losing seasons, do you remember Rod Rust back in 1990?? :rollem:
Season stats don't mean everything though, just look at 2007 when they went undefeated for the season...so yeah, not only you and "Pepperidge Farms Remembers"...I do too.

With only 4 weeks left of RS, what's you prediction?
Just curious where everyones' reality is...

..and Ron, we need no sympathy. We've broken so many records that it'll be beyond my life-time before the Greatest Team of All-Time gets forgotten. :patshelmet::pats2:

Ref’s need to find a new job, but first they need an eye exam. To miss a call which slows a drive, which may or may not turn into points is one thing, to blow calls that would have been touchdowns is so bad.

Look, say what you want but Brady really has a lack of talent around him. O line sucks most of the time. Aside from Julie, their offensive weapons are mediocre at best. Sony, CAN'T run! Sanu is just OK. James White is 38 and slow. Who else????

Won’t argue that Paul, but the first challenge shouldn’t have been lost, scoop and score call blown, the Harry TD call and throw in the none call on clear pass interference on Dorsett; add them up and that’s probably 14 points and a big momentum shift. The refs screwed us big time.

Worst called game I can remember....the refs definitely cost points. Maybe the crew in NY should be reviewing all questionable calls behind the scenes and call Booger when his crew gets it wrong. Patriots had nothing in first half and were deservedly booed off field. O line sucked beyond belief, and lack of team speed once again showed up.

Post game suggested that all owners except two have expressed the need for a sky judge, who can within an acceptable time, call down for a further review. I can’t even imagine how two owners would even object, but fing Roger will want a bigger paycheck to evaluate. The tech today is so good, you could eliminate almost all teams from this type of screwing.

Yes, poor officiating for sure, but regardless... with receivers dropping passes, poor O-line adding to Brady's issues?? Seems the only things that worked yesterday were the fleaflickers??? Defense is doing all they can, but again... tired and injured, this ain't gonna end well.
The bulk of the blame for yesterday's game falls on the team, not the officials. Sure, they got robbed points...possibly costing them the game, but they're not playing at a level to win a championship, never mind the SuperBowl.

Buffalo looked solid yesterday.
Loved the SF game too... thinking they may be wearing the crown if they meet up with the Ravens.

Defense came up large again and while the running game was better, you have to look at who they were playing against. Worst team against the run, so I'm not sure that success translates into the playoffs, but at least that got Harry into the mix. Brady is still not looking his normal sharp self and the O-line is going to be their downfall moving forward.

Whatever it takes
seems to be the theme this year

Yes lack of O-line without Andrews is a problem and next year Tooney will be a free agent so we need help there for sure. No fullback hurts the running game. What is left of the offense is so predictable and simple to defend for most teams especially the good teams. Buffalo is going to be tough.

Defense and special teams have to take up some slack and stop the other teams scoring drives with turnovers to help out the offense unfortunately. I'm not sure how we can counter the refs though.

They can get it done with pieces like they always seem to do but it is going to take a lot of effort and mistake free football.

Brady will play out of his mind in the playoffs and keep the score close enough to win. Gilmore will be locked in and everyone will do their part. It will be epic.

:eek5: More dropped passes, more of TB missing his mark :eek5:

Let's continue to hope that on "Any given Sunday" or Saturday for that matter...they can still pull it off.
Far from panic mode, but I thought I heard the fat-lady gargling some of Zeno's olive oil yesterday afternoon...
Also hoping they stayed away from Julian yesterday for his health as well as forcing other options??

I don't want them to go into the Chiefs home. End it now. No false hope.

We need:
An "O" line
A couple of Tight Ends,
A couple of Wide Receivers,
A good, solid, running back in the mold of Cory Dillion
A good kicker,
and maybe a healthy Brady and Julie

Bad loss, not the trend you want to take into the playoffs and a hot team with an X Patriot coach is coming to town. Clearly they needed that week off and every facet of the team fell on their face, Brady more than anyone, he just looked terrible.

The team looked defeated from the get go in that "playoff game" against the Fins. Lost season from day one then add all the injuries. The D was never legendary ( hated it when they started calling themselves the Boogie Men- you don't ever give yourself a nickname- ever. They rolled on crap teams first 1/2 of season. Going into season w/o any TE's to speak of, 2 rookie WR's, no speed at all at wideout, O line lost 1/2 of blockers. How could they not get up for the Miami game? Thinking something went down within the walls of Gillette during the week. Off season is going to be VERY active I imagine.

Edelman, Sanu and White should be enough of a receiving team if Brady can manage to throw the ball to them.

Not at all, with the exception of Jules. Double him and it's easy to cover the slow rec'ers. The Goat effed up this year giving TB anything.

They never "clicked" as an offensive team this year.
The relationships never formed, same play-book/different pages? ... going to be a lot of "behind closed-doors" finger pointing.

Paul /// It's no secret the O line isn't giving TB the time he needs (which seems to be increasing w/age), and TB's made it obvious being a pocket QB that if he can't find someone quick, he's dumping the ball. I remember watching the TB documentary showing the vigorous training that he puts himself thru...???...oddly enough, I don't see him put that into action on the field.,but I agree, they need serious help on the front line regardless of who's throwing the ball in the years to come.
And although Sony doesn't have the size, I think he's ok..neither he or White are terrible backs, and again with a better "O" line, their stats would improve... imo
Burkehead has explosive speed at times, I kinda like him (when he holds on to the ball) but they could definitely use some size in that position. Where's Ben Coates?? :musc:

Still not saying they're out though...Ravens have shown weakness as well as the other playoff teams. It will still come down to game-day.
And not that they've been a sleeper, but keep an eye on N.O. ...they had an easy season, but their health is there and they could-have/should-have beat SF.

And on to the play-offs we go!
