"enacting historic and record-setting tax cuts.”

The Floridaman tax cut, according to Treasury Department data, is nearly 0.9 percent of GDP — compared to 2.89 percent of GDP for Ronald Reagan’s 1981 tax cut, the actual largest tax cut. When measured as a share of the U.S. economy, Floridaman’s tax cut is the eighth-largest in the past century.

“Since my election, the net worth of the bottom half of wage earners has increased by 47 percent — three times faster than the increase for the top 1 percent.”

Net worth for the bottom half has gone up, but it was from such a low base that it’s pretty silly to call it a boom. People in the bottom half have essentially no wealth — just 1.6 percent of the nation’s wealth — as debts cancel out whatever assets they might have. The top 5 percent hold more than 70 percent of all net worth in the United States.

“Thanks to our bold regulatory reduction campaign, the United States has become the number one producer of oil and natural gas in the world, by far.”

The United States has led the world in natural gas production since 2009. Crude oil production has been increasing rapidly since 2010. The United States was the top producer in 2013. In September 2018, the United States once again passed both Russia and Saudi Arabia to become the largest global crude oil producer. But the energy revolution he takes credit for began under Obama.

“With the tremendous progress we have made over the past three years, America is now energy independent.”

The U.S. military warned, in a report issued the day Trump spoke, that ISIS remained a dangerous threat and the killing of Baghdadi did not degrade the group’s capabilities. “USCENTCOM told the DoD OIG [Office of the Inspector General] that following the death of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the group’s capabilities in Syria remained the same,” the report said. “USCENTCOM said that ISIS remained cohesive, with an intact command and control structure, urban clandestine networks, and an insurgent presence in much of rural Syria.”

From a political perspective, you're probably right. The policies he touched on, and the guests he brilliantly selected to humanize those policies, are guaranteed to fire up his base. Additionally, he got those hens dressed in white and Pelosi to display themselves at their absolute ugliest. I am constantly amazed at his ability to do this.

Their repugnant actions will increase their margin of victory in CA and NY, and help Trump in the swing states which will decide the election. The only commercials he needs to run in swing states, are showing Pelosi ripping up the speech (amid images of Trump celebrating economic success, a surviving Tuskagee airman, and celebrating the spectacular life of a toddler born at 21 weeks), and the CNN panel, in a rare moment of honest clarity, telling the 63 million Americans who voted for Trump, what they think of them.

Victories don't get much more lopsided, than the one Trump is enjoying over his adversaries right now. The democrats blew impeachment (Trumps approval ratings went up 10 points during the process), and they obviously blew the caucus. Maybe next week they can try to boil water, something more their speed. And they want to control my healthcare? No thanks.

I'm old enough to remember Pelosi suggesting a Republican congressman get censured for mocking Obama at the SOTU (that was an awful display). Last night, there was a whole section of hens in white jeering him, and Pelosi ripping the speech.

They're so consumed with TDS that they don't see that they are helping to ensure his re election. These are professional politicians, how do they not see that? How much are the paying their political consultants, who are telling them "the way to beat Trump is to embrace full fledged socialism, abortions in the 9th month, reparations, and green new deals."

It's as if they feel that what will get them more votes in Manhattan and San Francisco, will get them more votes in Florida and NC. It doesn't work that way. How can they not know this? Almost everything they do, helps Trump. Who are they listening to? Who is advising them?

I agree with some of that. Would have been better if he said "while the previous administration inherited a mess and did a decent job bringing us back...I took a different approach by cutting taxes and eliminating regulations, and that has allowed us to improve meaningfully, far beyond what anyone thought was realistic." I'm not sure you can say that Obama's economic agenda was a failure. It wasn't nearly as robust as what we have now, but it wasn't a failure. The $750B "stimulus' was a pathetic failure, but that was one bill that flopped completely, even Obama later admitted so. . But As a whole, the economy was better when Obama left than what he inherited.

Five pages out of how many of lies, slurs and exaggerations from Putin's Puppet and his Reality TV show.

How many millions no longer have health care because Floridaman has NO plan?
How many thousands more troops in harm's way in the Middle East?
How many Children killed by gun violence every day?
How many more people are homeless each day?
How many children go without food?
How many bridges need to fall down because Floridaman is incapable of negotiation?

Those are some valid reasons to be afraid, or are you thinking the Trumplicans will imprison the opposition?
While Floridaman would surely love to, I would hope that the end is not that close for this country.

More likely that Floridaman is reelected and rides our country into the ground in the inevitable death throes of the business cycle having already spent all the available economic accelerators continuing the already long in the tooth expansion to get reelected, thus ending the Trumplican Party for decades and leaving us begging our former allies to trust us again.

Actually, I don't know what a record-setting tax cut is. It would be good to know what record he's talking about. The statistical version you present is a calculation of the percent of GDP. Don't know if that's what Trump was referring to. Or if he was referring to the economic impact of creating more jobs and more total federal revenue being realized. I understand that you want to figure out some way to make it a "lie." It's more like a matter of opinion. Different versions have been printed in different sources. Trump turned the SOTU address into a game/reality TV show, complete with prizes. I'm surprised that he didn't throw loaves of bread (or paper towel rolls) out to his audience.

The SOTU has been that for years. The Founders never intended for anything other than that the President "shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient.” It wasn't meant to be a formal, yearly, presentation. And certainly not the political circus that it has been for many decades. Trump is just following the tradition that has been created by our self-serving politicians.

Considering that, Trump did an exemplary SOTU.

Of course, it is necessary for you to describe it as something like a Democrat pork show with sops for the pigs.

Coming from the master of the immature insult?

It took the height deprived imbecile a day to decide that if he was not a moron, I must have insulted his mother and then his head exploded.
And even then he only got insulted because the Trumplicans egged him on.
He's definitely sitting in the low chair watching the world whiz by over his head.

Math and statistics don't lie and that is what makes so many of Trumps claims flat out wrong, lies, grossly inaccurate or as you are fond of saying on almost any debate involving a questionable statement from Trump; it's just a matter of opinion. Funny thing about math 2+2 is always going to be 4.

they all do it...quit whining

First Trump lied & said, "No casualties."

Actually, as you surely must know, at the time he said "no casualties" he was stating what was told to him by our military. And at that time there was no evidence of trauma. So he did not lie.

But, of course, it is necessary for your narrative to lie about it.

Statistics, as Mark Twain said, are pliable. Pete F demonstrated that in the 10 "lies."

I suspect the 15,000 lies Trump has supposedly told are a result of much plying--a mish-mash concoction of twisted stats, Trump's errors, mistakes, opinions, exaggerations . . . I also suspect that if anyone was frivolous enough to search the number of such "lies" that Schumer, Pelosi, Schiff, Obama, CNN, MSNBC, Chris Matthews, Don Lemon, Any Cuomo, etc., applying the same standard of what is a lie, that all of those folks and entities, and just about any other politician, would have told many thousands of such "lies."

Nobody spins as good as you :jump:

Now tell us how he didn't know Stormy or that Cohen was paying her off and that the Access Hollywood tape was fake.

Why? I'm satisfied with pointing out that your list of 10 Trump lies was a lie--I would say that your calling them lies was merely wrong, but since you often call Trump's mistakes lies, I think turnabout is fair and so apply your standard to you.

As usual your only rebuttal was conjecture, supposition and inference.
AKA spin

I actually rebutted your spin. You didn't rebut what you call my spin.

My spin is so good that you are not able to show how it is wrong.

Pete might engage you in one of your circular debates because he has either not learned the spin away brings you back to the beginning where black and white are shades of gray and mere opinions. I have learned it’s pointless because it just goes on until either the person you debate with gets tired of the game or it is back to square one. The beauty of a game is you can choose not to play, but spin on brother.

And yet you choose to play (somehow under the pretense that you're not playing), but even so, you are unable to point out how I was wrong.

I might also point out that this post is your way of playing YOUR game. Just say stuff.

That's good news . . . if it's true. No doubt there will be more threads coming that will test your resolve.
