Certainly not Trump, between the mis information and now prohibiting news media access to briefings, to an absolute failure in getting test kits out quickly and in bulk; he is pathetic. From the beginning he was more concerned about how this would impact his 2020 run, especially with the reaction in the market. He Downplayed the number of cases, even suggesting the number would very soon go below the initial 15, to suggesting most recently it’s no worse than the common flu and people might even be ok going to work. The ripple effect in the market and economy is hurting everyone and orange man continues to mislead and downplay the seriousness in an effort to keep his base from jumping ship and more importantly help calm the market his shining star.

Take my town of Plymouth, who has now closed all schools, with the students infected on returning from Italy. Good criss planning, when students returning from a hot zone can fly commercial, ride home and just go to school like nothing has happened. Where are the travel guidelines to prevent that from happening, which only spreads this more quickly.

He can't help himself, even claiming his "hunch" says the death rate is wrong...Trump has to set things up on the hope he can claim he's smarter than the scientists. Don't Trust anyone but me.

He can't even not be a con man when lives are on the line.

You ever going to explain why dips in the market aren't good for people who put money in every two weeks, and who are therefore dollar cost averaging?

Fortunately, Trump isn't the national health czar. I want smart people at the CDC and the NIH, and probably more importantly, smart people at the state and local level making decisions. I remember when the virus first broke out, CNN and MSNBC were whining that the experts in a Trump meeting weren't diverse enough. Because, obviously that matters...

When you’re a president who constantly takes credit for stock market gains, take one guess what that means when it tanks.

And then realize that you know you're a bad president when the market gains 1,200 points on Wednesday because it looks like you'll be leaving office in ten months.

the thing is, business leaders are saying his tax cuts and regulation cuts, helped grow the economy. So it’s fair to say he helped. No one is saying he caused the corona virus, and no one except you is saying that this drop is because of Trump, not the virus. Everyone is wrong except you.

The swine flu came during a recession & the dow still trended upwards, whereas the dow is currently tanking. I think this speaks volumes about two different administrations...Investor confidence in government response during the Obama admin, which was still in the throes of a recession at the time, was considerably higher than a recovered economy with PsychoBozo at the helm during an epidemic.

Trump is the one who sounds ridiculous when he contradicts his own CDC experts and he gutted the agencies that are needed and in true Trump fashion, claims we can get those people back quickly. Anyone with a brain knows that’s not true and even our own experts don’t know the extent of the spread due to the lack of testing. No I don’t blame Trump, but guess what it’s his administration. His failure to shut the F up if he isn’t going to relay the truth and be honest about the extent of the problem is not helping. But go ahead and defend him, you three Amigos will be in lock step until he is just another inmate.

Love the judge coming down on Trumps personal attorney Barr, good for him for calling a spade a spade.

I blame Trump for his misleading spin, all in an effort to lesson the public’s perception of how serious this might either be or become. There are people stating in interviews they feel this is yet another hoax cooked up by the Democrats, where do you think they get that from? Trump as always is more concerned about how this affects him personally, everything he has done since taking office is viewed in that light. Nobody expects Trump to be an expert, but when he contradicts his own scientific experts, there are those that will question the science because the fing president of the USA does.

I love the you constantly ask why doesn’t anyone give Trump credit, the flip side of that argument is also true, other than the occasional complaint about his interactions with people, it’s rare anyone is calling him out on this, or other clearly bad moves. If you don’t think he is really not handling this well; your red hat and coolaid is making you looney.

It is amazing how our so-called health care industry, from the hospitals and all other care centers (best in the world?), our pharmaceutical industry (best in the world?), insurance industry, scientific research centers, high paid "experts" in all of those, we look to the President of the U.S. to prevent or contain or solve a health problem.

Do all those people and industries have to wait for the President to get on the case? I know it is too difficult for most folks to read the Constitution, but a quick perusal of it, or even a studied one, would not find that the President has the responsibility to fix the problem, nor even much, if anything, to do with it.

But, of course, you compassionate Progressives have a different understanding. For you, he's the guy. A great Progressive like FDR, or LBJ, or Obama would have seen to it that we probably wouldn't have had more than 10 or so cases of the virus, if any, by now.

here’s the million dollar question for you. by what possible logic do you call out me, scott, and SD, but exclude Pete from the criticism?

I saw Pete very deliberately insult TDFs kids, his children FFS, and nit one of the liberals uttered a syllable. You didn’t care.

Answer - it’s ok when liberals do it, but inappropriate when we respond in mind.

None of you can bring yourselves to say anything that resembles criticism about anyone you have political sympathies with. Pete is certifiably insane, and a jerk to boot, and not a syllable from you, or spence, or paul. Not one syllable. But you have zero issue criticizing the conservatives. Do you seriously not see the hypocrisy?

I hate what i say to pete, i know exactly how ugly it is. but when i asked him a fair and obvious question, he backed himself into a corner ( he’s not too bright), he refused to answer and said my mother gives blow jobs at truck stops to support her drug habit. that was his exact response to a very fair question by me, and none of you had any issue with it, only TDF commented on it. She had another serious health scare last month so i stooped to his level because i think he had that, and a whole lot more, coming to him.

So i’ll knock it off because i’m better than that, but you and spence can spare us your phony lectures about civility, unless you can apply your standards to pete too. until then, stow it.

Why post a picture of your children?

My kids are actually clean cut, productive members of society. These must be your relations, I can smell the in-breeding from here

he makes a valid point, and you smear his kids?

there’s liberalism for you. liberalism in a nutshell, not even his kids are spared when a liberal is losing an argument.

F*ck you, you sniveling snowflake coward. TDF is one of the most rational middle ground people
here, and you insult his kids. one of whom is an eagle scout, yeah there’s all kinds of dysfunctionality there i’m sure.

F*ck you and the stupid, deranged, hate filled, intolerant liberal horse you rode in on.

Sure Jim,
Once again you prove that one should never argue with a moron, they bring you down to their level and think they have bitchslapped you, and demonstrate their belief that anything worth reacting to is worth overreacting to. Anyways in your case, I may have been wrong about your mama and the truckstop but you give me plenty of cause to believe you have a tangled family tree.
Your paranoia is showing.

I said you insulted the mans children. You just proved me correct.

All you did, all you ever do, is show that (1) you’re obsessed with trump, and (2) consumed with hatred for everyone who doesn’t feel the exact same way as you, you constantly lie and claim that anyone who ever says anything positive about trump, is incapable of criticizing him. When in fact, you are the one that simple minded who can only see things one way.

i’m a fellow of the casualty actuarial society and graduated phi beta kappa and cum laude with a degree in math from uconn. if you ever want to take an iq test against me, let’s do it. you still claim that kids in cages is a trump invention not an obama invention. The proof is there, you just aren’t capable of processing anything which doesn’t make trump look awful. you backed yourself into a corner on this issue, and instead of saying what everyone knows ( that obama built the cages and used them), you went after my mother. again, that says nothing about me, and everything anyone ever needs to know, about you.

you’re a warped, thoughtless, hate-filled coward. the only person here who thinks i’m a moron, including those who disagree with me, is you. only you. but you have problems with everyone. so either you’re the problem, or everyone else is. You tell me which is more likely.

I’m the one who is paranoid? you blame trump for everything from the chicago fire to the current stock market plummet . Everyone admits is because of corona virus, only you said it was evidence of lack of confidence in trump. only you go to that ridiculous extreme.

but I’m paranoid, not you. right, right.

I can see how he insulted mine, but I know better and I'm not as unstable as you.

You are the easiest Magae to wind up and watch lose his mind.

As an aside I hear that many people say that PB said: Sir...I'm hearing that the newest version of the Chinese made MAGA hat - not only has a tin foil liner for avoiding the truth, but also has been upgraded to protect from all pandemics.
You better upgrade.

But I do believe that when the story is finally written, we’ll come to understand that tens of thousands of lives were placed at risk because of a political decision made by PsychoBozo to attempt to save the worlds oldest bullmarket that had been on life support for the past couple of years.

Or, if the liberals here could show a tiny speck of consistency in terms of what's tolerable, you and I wouldn't be having this conversation. So maybe you can tell me why the conservatives are the only ones who ever get called out? Generally speaking, I could care less what one tin-foil-hat-wearing kook says. His comments about my mother got under my skin (my bad) because we almost lost her last month, but that worked out fine.

I'm asking why the liberals here, apply such ridiculously different standards, in terms of what's tolerated? As the most rational liberal here (which isn't exactly stiff competition, but I do know how smart you are), perhaps you could offer an opinion as to why that is?

Ahead of coronavirus spending bill vote, GOP FL Rep Matt Gaetz is sitting on the floor, wearing a biohazard mask
Congressman Gaetz was informed today that he came into contact with a CPAC attendee 11 days ago who tested positive for COVID-19.
Gaetz was on Air Force One with Trump roughly an hour ago.

I guess we could just quarantine all the republicans who were at CPAC.

Great interview asking if anyone coming in under the new travel ban can bring in the virus and Trump being unable to not lie and spin, claims everyone coming in is tested and of course boasting about the outstanding testing in place. You red hat boys still defending him, still going to say how well this administration has handled this, even when the science experts tell congress the testing has been a failure. The economy is headed for the toilet, we are sheltering in place guarding our TP supply and Trump keeps lying and spinning to keep his 2020 run alive. He and this administration is a joke.

“The Obama White House had to immediately issue an apology for Joe Biden’s remarks, and any alarm that he might have caused, an alarm about a Swine Flu outbreak that took 6 months for President Obama to declare a National Emergency, and that killed 12,000 Americans.”

Lies again

H1N1 was first diagnosed in US April 15, 2009.

CDC activated emergency operations April 22.

1 million tests released by May 15.

Prototype vaccine completed by end August 2009.

477 people in US died from H1N1

“It’s one person coming in from China. We have it under control. It’s going to be just fine.”

Donald Trump*, Jan. 22, 2020, on Coronavirus

Jan. = same time S. Korea took quick action:

U.S. has 327 million people:
As of March 11, CDC, state and public health labs have conducted more than 11,000 tests since mid-January.

S. Korea, 51 million people:
has tested more than 200,000 of its population since January.

We shortly will reach the point in the movie where the malignant President (played by Donald Sutherland) is fretfully watching tv scenes of overrun hospitals and looted grocery stores ... and his dry raspy cough leads him to realize that HE has been infected with the killer virus.

Gen. Abrams says USFK can get as many people tested "as necessary" for COVID-19.

He credits the Republic of Korea with how they've handled testing, pointing to things like drive-through testing centers. He says they're able to do up to 18,000 tests a day.

USFK has 9 people who have tested positive — including 1 service member, and 2 active-duty dependents.

All 9 of them live off-base.

Who I want in this crisis is the people of this nation in the states, counties, cities and towns, workplaces, businesses, corporations, utility companies, hospitals, research centers, etc. etc., as well as Congress, to attack and defend against the virus. To a great extent, that seems to be happening. Depending on one person in one branch of the federal government to coordinate and lead it all, or even most of it, or even a great deal of it, is ridiculous. That's asking for the politicking and accusations and recriminations and blaming and needless waiting critical hours and days for beneficial actions.

The President has done what limited things he can. Reducing the problem to his choice of words is typical destructive political nonsense.
