The Quabbin Res. will not open on April 18th. Ugh. I was looking forward to this quality type of Social Distancing to break me out of my funk. Furthermore, I have meticulously preserved an intact QBS seal on a small Whaler from last season up to this point. This at some sacrifice not being able to use this rig for local fishing on small water on the Cape both last Fall and so far this season.

I am in a quandary whether I should break this seal or wait for a future Quabbin Opening Day to be announced. Does anybody have a prediction about this?

I predict that no matter what you do you won't catch crap either place.

Ho. Ho. Ho:
I just discovered that some people have just been notified that their QBS boat cleaning has been rescheduled to April 17th. So, there is still hope that the Quabbin may open on the 18th.

IF: the Q opens on the 18th, I wonder if the Opening Day crowd will be increased with all the MA kids unencumbered by school, sports, or other social activities. Also, the rumors are that maybe rental boats (always a limited first come first served number), may not be made available. OR: That maybe ONLY rental boats will be allowed, with a maximum of two per boat>

Anyhow, such is the rumor mill. But for now the takeaway is that the Q Opening is NOT definitely off the books yet.
