At a time in my life the nieces, nephews, and god children were all playing tag in my yard. Many of them hid in a shed and locked the door.My godson got so angry he took an air rifle and banged on the door denting it in many places. All the children in the shed said my godson damaged the door.He then claimed he did not do it! I then told him he was no longer welcome at my home until he told me the truth. Two years later at a Pop Warner game he came up to me crying and said I did it uncle Mike! I hit the door! I hugged him crying and told him I loved him and some day he would understand it was never about a door.Fast forward he needed guidance and I told him to join the marines. He asked if I would attend graduation from basic.I told him even death wouldn't stop me from going. After the ceremony he cane to me and said it was all about honor uncle Mike! I said Hoorah with tears running down my face.

I think Trump missed that life lesson early on.

You are a good man and you taught a valuable lesson.

It's the way were brought up. You take credit for your actions....good or bad because it is the honorable thing to do.

I was told this in my miltary career when I became an NCO .

You can delgate authority
You cant delgate the responsibility.

One of the best leadership lessons in life and applies to any career discipline chosen.

Pretty much what I used to harp on my scouts about

You can delegate a task but you can't delegate responsibility.

RESPECT >>>> we may not have have money . but we were taught RESPECT .from our family , the neighborhood /parents & back in that time I must admit , the nuns & the priests .
we always said yes & no please / held all doors open for everyone .
the elderly .were held to a higher level ..

I also was lucky enough to grow up in a neighborhood that saw no difference , in color , religion , nationality , sexuality , or any other different beliefs .
inside our neighborhood we were never challenged , for being who we were ……….I can,t say that stayed the same . when I/we were not there. be it in school , or anywhere we were with other kids , or adults ..> people ……...it was there I got my real taste of religion :fishslap: My MOm [taught] me my lesson .she never said it to me in words ……...but she showed me in her actions or lack of ……….. I,m so angry with myself it took me a long time to realize it ………………. AND that is/was ……………………….. NEVER look down at someone or NEVER look up .because you are never better than or lesser than another person ..no matter what you are told or they may think ……………………………………….I tried to raise my kids about the same way ……… I couldn,t exactly the same because /life & times changed …………..but we tried hard & they have the core that was needed & I love them & are proud of them …….times have changed ><>
