And the prop? piemma 06-11-2020, 07:20 AM hey Ray, I think I have a prop from my 115. Not a stainless one but let me look. JFigliuolo 06-11-2020, 07:55 AM What the hell happened? Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device JohnR 06-11-2020, 08:17 AM What the hell happened? Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Kinda looks like Ray runs 50' of chain - no? Guppy 06-11-2020, 03:50 PM Shallow spot to fillet... Took off, clunk! , chain wrapped around prop and looks like quit when the anchor got there, raised engine, chit my pants, lowered engine to loosen from cleat, cleared it away, went home! Little ding in the prop also, no big deal.... super lucky... :smash: JFigliuolo 06-11-2020, 06:48 PM Ridiculously lucky Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Sea Dangles 06-11-2020, 07:17 PM Clammer 06-11-2020, 08:31 PM JF && your excuse ><>:agree: nightfighter 06-12-2020, 05:43 AM Ridiculously lucky Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Indeed! If it were Clammer, that lower unit would be toast.... Thinking further about that, the SS prop would have sent all the force up the shaft... Might be worth having the lower unit dropped and have educated eyes take a look for potential damage or future problems. wdmso 06-12-2020, 10:06 AM ouch glad it wasn't worse Guppy 06-12-2020, 04:43 PM Indeed! Fished her today,,, keeps on ticking..... fingers crossed Clammer 06-12-2020, 05:06 PM ray spin the prop & see it its spinning straight ////////// the last time I blew it .we changed the prop & all seem to look & run good .But we pulled it & has spun it & it had a slight tilt , wobble /which eventuallywould have lead to a full blown & probably at a worse time ><. Geeesh, good one Mike, thanks nightfighter 06-13-2020, 06:18 AM Glad Clammer chimed in... "the last time I blew it..." Love you Mike, like a brother. Hope we can fish again this year... Seriously, Ray. It is the main reason I won't run with a SS prop. I would rather sacrifice an aluminum prop than have the SS strength telegraph the energy up into the engine. ...I know Eddie got the lower unit & prop ><> I think the two bow crasher are pretty good ><>< :sled: No... I retrieved your prop with my gaff, just feet from where you hit the submerged jetty. Lower unit was already retrieved when we arrived on the scene... I remember asking you what happened and you hit the tilt on your motor to reveal no lower unit.. Wasn't it two different TowBoats to get you all the way home? Imagine how that tow would have been if we hadn't delivered the Rx..... Clammer 06-14-2020, 08:46 PM yep the ma boat towed to the RI line @ around Sakonnet 7.5 hours laying in the sun . I was so dehydrated I couldn,t stand up
& I don,t remember putting the boat on the trailer or in the yard
needless to say .I didn,t do it
.F-18 & #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& had to smash the trailer lock change the ball & go wait at the boat ramp & they took me & the rig home
that,s the only one I took completely off the others were in different stages of pieces . always was a rush job to get the boat to look enough as a pleasure boat to pass for the appraiser :wid: vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
