Ever see those laminated fold up travel maps?
I want something like that for a chart.
I know it would be no good for laying a compass on and doing real navigation with, however I want to use it like you would a road map.

I am only going into bays and rivers so I am not worried about the limitations that poses - nor the little gaps/spreads between the laminated sections.

Any suggestions on sources for the charts?
I may even just print em myself If I could find quality electronic versions.

electronic charts are expensive... but you'll always have em... but just like paper
you pay for updates

best places IMO:
Defender (catalogue)
Armchair Sailor down in Newport

Captain Seagull makes laminated charts, but I don't think you want to fold them, maybe roll up. I've seen them at West Marine

I got one of those CaptainSeagull charts.
Didn't realize it was an old noaa chart with commentary on it.
For 20-30 bucks I should have paid closer attention to it.
In the fine print it says - this is not for navigational purposes.

I have found online the old noaa charts but was hoping to find something more up to date.

I found some freeware online - sevencs.com (www.sevencs.com)
and downloaded some chart data from noaa however the printouts leave quite alot to be desired.
