Just read on the other site that Steve in Mass passed away. I fished with him only a couple of times, real nice guy. Think I met him at the flings a long time ago. He was like 62-63 way too young. RIP Steve

Slipknot 01-15-2021, 07:21 AM Very sad news :( Met Steve a long time ago, real good guy and yes that is way too young. RIP Steve Condolences to his family Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device nightfighter 01-15-2021, 07:27 AM Steve was always entertaining. Never disappointed with his pearls of wisdom... He was responsible for some classic thread shenanigans over there. I hope some can assemble them together... The world as Steve saw things was quite a place. Condolences to his wife Donna. And if you still smoke cigarettes, quit.... PaulS 01-15-2021, 08:20 AM He was a nice guy - always helpful. RIP. JohnR 01-15-2021, 08:27 AM Ohhh this is sad to hear. I liked Steve and enjoyed the not insignificant, dry, harassment and camaraderie. Godspeed Steve. Nebe 01-15-2021, 09:58 AM Never met him but I knew he was cool. He only fished 2 places in the Northeast: the outflow pipe at Pole 10 on the Canal, and the Jersey shore. He had bad knees all of the time that I knew him, so rock hopping was out. There were some flat rocks near the outflow pipe that he slid down on his butt. I don't think he ever attended one of our events. milo 01-16-2021, 05:39 PM Don’t know Mike? I know I fished with him at fire beach or something like that in RI and pretty sure it was after a cookout , either here or SOL Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Slipknot 01-16-2021, 06:42 PM Steve did attend get togethers, one I remember was a reel maintenance gathering at my shop one winter. Big Dave was there, John and many others. Steve helped me with a Baitrunner and I learned a bit about them. He said his knees were worn out from stocking shelves when younger, made it tough on surfcasting but sand was better for him. He did make it out onto Pips once with me. He could jig.
