I went to the Vinyard today as the wind was from the NE and I thought it would be better then Chatam !!:smash: so much for thinking, we 2 to 4 seas and the fish were not there!! Got 3 Fluke and one black sea bass that fell off at the side of the boat :smash:
Well I was thinking of going to the beach this weekend ?? But the wind is to be out of the east all week.
Plus I have to go to the Harwich fire works with the family Saturday night. They do a real nice Job there with the show!! Its the best around.

Earlier this season I dropped in on the evil Dr. Fishmental.

I was in his laboratory watching him conduct horrible experiments on unsuspecting critters.

Notice sinister grin on his face as he goes about his dirty work. :hihi:

The difference in tides between high and low looks greater than the 4-5 feet you play with south of the Elbow on the Cape. But I don't think WeeWee knows any rocky spots north of the Canal... Is he trying to protect us by showing a picture from California? Rocky, high-tide, sun setting in the west to throw us all off?

fishweewee
09-11-2003, 09:40 AM
Nope, not California.

Northeast coast, continental U.S.

Here's another recent fishy pic to break up the monotony, one I already posted.

Roughly 48 inches, caught on a Banjo Minnow at Watch Hill Light.

WW,

Where do you store your images online? I use VillagePhotos.com but they only give you 5 mb of transfer per day. It looks like you use a lot more judging from the number of pics you posted.

fishweewee
09-11-2003, 12:43 PM
Vince, I have some dedicated server space, but most of these pics I saved here.

WW,

I didn't know you could save them here?
Each time I try to upload a pic, it asks me for the url. Is it possible for googans to upload here? It would be much easier than trying to hotlink the images all the time.

fishweewee
09-11-2003, 12:59 PM

Nope, definitely not Beavertail. Too much sand in this spot.

I did almost get chased outta Westerly. Those folks will just grump you off the road on your merry way to CT.

gilgo or sore thumb

fishweewee
09-11-2003, 01:28 PM
Nope and nope. All the rocks at the Sore Thumb are construction and demolition debris and are piled up artificially. Rocks and boulders in the mystery spot are natural.

Bingo, he nailed it on the head.

The spot in question is scenic Horton's Point, North Fork of Long Island, New York.

Rocky...like Montauk and RI and the Elizabeths. However, it's a lot of little gravel and some HUGE boulders, but not a lot of boulders like you would see in New England.

Steep hill to get down to the water ... just like some of the beaches in Truro, except rocky.

However, since it's Eastern LI Sound, the surf is gentle relative to the open ocean.

As JohnR noticed - big tide movements.

Great togging spot, and some nice striper fishing. Honestly, I just go there for the views. Just a hop skip and a jump away from one of the boat striper Meccas - Orient Point.
