View Full Version : Newport Boat Show this Weekend! 179 09-11-2003, 11:31 AM Who is going and what will your Must See's Be? likwid 09-11-2003, 11:44 AM might go friday only there to look at sailboats though :) MakoMike 09-11-2003, 11:59 AM I might go on Saturday, since the weather is supposed to suck for fishing. If not then the Norwalk show next weekend. StriperFreak 09-11-2003, 12:04 PM must talk dad into going!!!! '' missinglink'' even tho we just got a new boat i would still like to look at all the new boat coming out. Mr. Sandman 09-11-2003, 01:08 PM be there on sat, I will be looking at trawlers in the 42-49' range (and any CC that catch my eye)....derby on sun:D SuperB 09-12-2003, 11:00 AM 179- stay away from the Regulator booth, drooling on the triple 250's is not encouraged. Rich Mr. Sandman 09-12-2003, 02:53 PM Ooooh a Regulator booth...I better leave my checkbook at home I could get into trouble. likwid 09-12-2003, 03:09 PM regulator has a boat with triplets on it now? wow talk about a waste... but then again... the people who own these typically have nascar stickers :P 179 09-13-2003, 04:42 PM The 26' Regulator in the water with the twin 225hp 4-strokes, and white powder covered T-Top was just incredible, as was the $129,000 price tag. My second favorite was the Scout 235 Sportfisher, but I am biased.... :) likwid 09-13-2003, 05:08 PM a little stiff for how much boat you get out of it though... I'll still stand by Makos and Surf Hunters over Regulators Mr. Sandman 09-17-2003, 10:29 AM No way...Regulators rock! 129K is painful but not that bad. I need to take my wife to the boatshow this winter (with the check book in hand). I would take a 26 reg vs a mako anyday...surfhunter are nice but different style of boat and are slightly over priced for what you get. (they don't give regs away but they are awesome in a sea...go for a ride in a 3-4' chop. That CC and tackle stoage on the Reg is amazing...SC is s#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g hind tit behind them if you ask me. Contendors are also nice but I like the lines and flare of the regulators. As much as I would like the 31-33 CC with triples...I think that is over the top. First, a 32'er is a big boat and needs some real power that outboards can't produce. You just can't keep bolting on more outboards (with small props) to get it. As much as I like the hydrosport 33 with triples (or any of the others) the performance and fuel consumption is kinda poor IMO. That boat would be better off with twin 440 yanmars and a full transom..buyt then you would end up looking like the new egg harbor express. If you want to go fast and don't give a damn about fuel...contact the guys at OutterLimits in Bristol...they make a sweet 51'er that hits 130. I bet they can customize it into the ultimate CC...Imagine fishing the canyon in 45min!! http://www.motorboating.com/motorboat/seatrials/article/0,12696,480324,00.html vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
