Need more fishing threads, here goes.
After not fishing much last year, and working a lot of hours because my company sells professional liability insurance to nursing homes, I needed to decompress this year. My wife gave me permission to spend time and money on the water to make up for a tough year.
I've learned a TON from folks here, who informed me of some of teh great and varied fisheries we are blessed with, and i've hit quite a few so far...
trip #1, ice fishing for the first time ever, with some cub scouts and Connecticut guide Paul Mueller.
trip #2, took my 11 year old with captain mike Roy to the Housatonic River in April, caught 70+ schoolies on super light tackle.
trip #3, I was invited on a haddock trip to Gloucester, had a boat limit by 10 AM on the Hard Merchandise of Wicked Tuna fame.
trip #4, took my 14 year old for black sea bass in early June with captain Rich Antonino and limited out on some nice fish.
trip #5, took my 14 year-old and some of his basketball teammates on a 6-pack boat out of Pt Judith, caught a mess of stripers, blues, and sea bass at Block.
trip #6, took my 14 year old on a charter trip to Block at night to drift eels on light tackle, boated 15 stripers between the 2 of us, he caught his best at 46 pounds.
have a few more trips scheduled. I haven't had a stinker trip yet, not even close. Best, my kids are really getting into it. 68209
