I go to pull my crab trap that I can only get to at low tide and it’s gone along with the 3’ rebar stake… WTF

I figure someone stole it but checked with the natural resource dept. …

I will say in her behalf she didn’t try and fake it like she new about the problem ,, and she explained how she spent the morning researching on about the crabs….

I took my trap , went home, baited it, and made it back to my spot before the tide got too high and set it out….

It looks like the wind is going to cooperate in a couple days and,,, dammit! I need bait….

Stay tuned , I may need a cake with a file in it…

Actual conversation I had with a RI DEM officer:

Officer: "What you fishing for? "

Me: "Stripers... I caught a few schoolies."

Officer: "How about striped bass? You catch any of those? "

Me: (long pause in disbelief) " no... no striped bass...... just a few stripers"


Officer: "ok good luck"

On one of the legs of this site

there was a big bluefish blitz ...only JR fished it

the rest of us were too bust laughing .watching people of all kinds

casting back & forth to both sides of the channel at weeki we were on the bridge & they blew open 200 feet south of it ..what a fuster cluck .........no cameras .................people hooked, lines crossed
people in the edge of the water trying to grab fish & this one guy dragging a stringer of blues acorss the dusty dirt parking lot &&& the warden our own DEM calling into headquarters as she walked by us // asking headquarters what the quanity limit was for bloooofish .ya can,t make up the stuff RIDEM does or not <<><:humpty::humpty::humpty:

My thoughts exactly, and there’s 3 ? of them in my towns NR dept.
I really like it when I walk in and the young man doesn’t get up and continues to sit way back in the over sized chair lookin like a overweight southern cracker sheriff with that pompous attitude…

Received an MA LOA ( letter of authorization) today including a number authorizing me to harvest the crabs, need to attach the # to the trap…
Also a form to report all catch…

The local DNR didn’t like the rebar stake the trap was attached to … dah, I don’t have a clue why,,,, pulled the stake and tied to a rock…
Unbelievable!

Now I’m short on crabs having a 3 day soak dumped out… :-(

Most people are just FKN stupid.

Mike - remember that lady had gotten a lure thru her hand and her boyfriend did not want to leave the fishing to take her to the hospital? Hope that relationship failed.

My brother and I were fishing a CT beach one night with eels and an ECO approaches us and asks what we are fishing for. We said stripers. Then he asks if we caught any. We said no. So he says mind if I just watch? We say no problem. We're fishing eels and at some point the officer notices we are... So he stands back up and says are you catching eels on every cast? I looked at my brother like who is this guy? And my brother without hesitation says, yah I'm casting out a bare hook and they're just slamming it, no wonder we're not getting any bass.

The ECO says wow that's incredible, ok boys have a good one.
