View Full Version : Biden administration says TX governor is causing inflation
Jim in CT 04-13-2022, 11:00 AM How DARE he inspect trucks coming into his state from Mexico?
Psaki says his checks are unnecessary. If anything illegal is trucked across the border ( drugs, perhaps) it’s not unnecessary.
According to this administration, ( and the prior one) EVERYTHING is everybody else’s fault. No democrat ever did anything to cause one zillionth of one percent of the inflation.
The buck stops with republican governors who are currently embarrassing me! Abbott is busing illegals from TX to DC, which every state should do. it’s not TXs responsibility.

One of the things I find confounding about the far right is that they have an absolute distrust of the media, journalists, the fake news, the polls, election returns, science, but if something is in meme form, and posted on Facebook, they accept it as Gospel.
wdmso 04-13-2022, 01:36 PM The policy forces trucks to submit to a state inspection after a federal inspection once they cross the border from Mexico. It quickly escalated into an international incident
Truckers in the area have also reportedly began to protest these enhanced inspections,
Once again Republicans Trying to find issues where no exist just another political Stunt for his re election campaign

I'll tell you what, I'll be happy to slap you around on this thread, if we can go back to the other thread...you made fun of me for suggesting that capital police let protesters into the capital, so I posted multiple videos of capital police doing exactly, precisely that.
And no response from you. Because as we all know, you're not honest or strong enough to admit when anyone else might be right. How long will you go into hiding after this November?

Given the amount of drugs coming across, isn't it safe to say that federal inspections aren't quite getting it done? Or is it all Trumps fault?
"just another political Stunt for his re election campaign"
it's working.

If the federal government won't secure the border, why should texans pay for that?
Also, in the other thread, you said it was "only in my head" that elementary schools were teaching kids about gender identity.
I posted links showing that 4 liberal states are doing exactly that. How come you didn't comment after that? You're on other threads, but hiding from that one.
How come?

so what does it say about what happened that day, that there were multiple videos from
multiple different places, of cops
letting people in? it was nothing compared to the BLM riots which you dismissed. Nothing in terms of deaths or property damage.
as to this thread, abbott just started the state inspections, right? inflation has been at decades long highs for months.
the federal government, under presidents from both parties, printed a stupid amount of money. the fed waited way too long to raise interest rates. our own energy policy didn’t help, covid probably didn’t help, russia obviously didn’t help.
how many orgasms did you have when obama mocked romney for saying russsia was a threat?

that’s the thing. it’s so easy for liberals to advocate for open borders, when they know they’ll
never have to live with the consequences of those policies.
if the feds choose not to seal the border, why should residents of border states suffer for that? if people in CT and NY want to elect liberals who will open the border,,why shouldn’t they share in the pain that’s created by that policy?
that’s essentially liberalism in a nutshell- rules for thee, but not for me.

If he can't take a simple question asking for proof that Biden is senile, that Jill Biden doesn't care for him and that he isn't in charge he shouldn't post here. He said she had a degree and I asked a few questions and was looking for examples and what the degree was and then he starts crying like a little baby.
Anyways I PMed the tough guy my address and will wait to hear back.

a simple question is fair. comparing her to bank teller talking about big macroeconomic things, is is intentionally belittling, and you’re smart enough to know it, so just own it. interesting, you’re tough enough to challenge him, but nut man enough to admit you were insulting his wife.
again, you love calling me out when i’m insulting, but you can never admit you do the same exact thing, worse in my opinion, as i direct it at people who’ve insulted me, not their wives or kids
if you won’t admit that biden has appeared clearly in the grips of early dementia at times, you can say that, but i don’t think you believe it. you just don’t want to admit it for political reasons

I made the comment WELL AFTER he started insulting me with calling my comments drivel and naive. Why should anyone here take insults? I called him out after searching if real DRs :hee: thought Biden had dementia or was senile and they all said no.

Give me a break. He mentioned his wife and her degree and then I asked what degree she had and from where along with 4-5 other questions. He wouldn't answer any of the questions besides saying she has a degree and find my own answers. I then asked if she was a DR or a grad of Katherine Gibbs. If he is so thin skinned that he can't take that I would suggest he continue to lurk and not post. The comment about the bank teller was well after that.

i never said every single doctor said he has dementia, so you’re not responding to anything i said by sharing a doctor who says he’s fine.
It would be swell if you could
respond to what i’m actually saying. it won’t be easy, which is why every single one of you constantly responds to something i never came close to saying.
you said something like all real doctors you could find, said he was ok. therefore i’m refuting you directly, by listing an opinion of a real doctor who says there are signs of dementia
ok, so now you’re qualified to say he doesn’t have it, because you saw someone who does. but someone else’s wife who works in an elderly facility, you say isnt qualified
I guess this is news to you, but not everyone with dementia is identical. there are different stages. you’re concluding he doesn’t have it, because he didn’t act exactly the same as someone you dealt with, who had it. Sure, that makes sense.
Must be nice when you get to decide whose opinions are valid ( everyone who says nice things about democrats), and whose opinions aren’t valid ( anyone who’d ever say anything negative about a democrat).

Dementia is related to brain changes which effect the person's cognitive ability severe enough to impair daily life and independent function. Biden does not have problems with either.
Jim in CT 04-14-2022, 11:39 AM Paul, let's go very slowly...
You said "I looked it up bf answering and all experts say he is not senile"
Obviously, that's not true, unless you say the former physician to Obama and Trump isn't an expert.
I was directly responding to what you explicitly said.
If you agree that I never claimed that all doctors say he is senile, what was the point of your posting about a doctor who said he's not senile?
"he is a puppet"
Sorry, when he mumbles at press conferences things like "they won't let me take questions", who is the "they" that he's referring to?
"look up how to diagnosis dementia. None of those took place."
You guys are precious. So why is it OK for you to say he doesn't have it, on the basis that you spent some time with someone who does?
Clearly, you're going to reflexively ignore his behavior in front of your wyes, you're going to ignore doctors who say it appears he's senile. Fine. But when you elect a mentally weak person who wasn't all that impressive to start with, don't be shocked when the results are exactly what we're seeing.
"Biden does not have problems with either."
Clearly YOU are in a better position to say that, than a physician to two presidents.
Jim in CT 04-14-2022, 11:47 AM can someone give me a rational argument for why illegal
immigration is ok?
if liberal cities can make their own laws and declare themselves to be sanctuary cities,,does that mean any city can unilaterally decide to disregard federal laws they don’t happen to like?

He has press advisors. The same as every other president has had. They all want the Pres. to stick to the subject and not get off on tangents and to control the interview - not let the press control it.
I believe that the quote about not answering questions was as follows:
"You guys are bad. I’m not supposed to be answering all these questions,” the president said. “I’m supposed to leave, but I can’t resist your questions.”
“He takes questions nearly every day he’s out from the press,” Psaki told CNN analyst David Axelrod on “The Axe Files” podcast May 6. “That is not something we recommend. In fact, a lot of times, we say, ‘Don’t take questions.’ But he’s going to do what he wants to do because he’s the president of the United States.”
So how is his daily life and independent function impaired?

you asked when was obama mean to biden. did you seee the video of the two of them at some gathering at the white house, obama completely ignored biden. idea walked up to obama, put his hand on his shoulder, said “Barack”, and obama didn’t even turn to loom at him, that’s the president.

is what the states are doing then, in violation of federal law, or not?
doesn’t the constitution’s supremacy clause say that federal law trumps state law?
is it that the states aren’t violating federal law? or are they explicitly breaking federal law, and the feds are looking the other way?
if it’s the latter, then why do i pay federal income tax? why can’t i choose to not comply with that federal law?

Jim it is not the state’s responsibility to enforce federal law.. they don’t get paid by the federal government to do it so most states don’t..
So much for states Rights
And you have no idea what a sanctuary city even means outside your conservative indoctrinated meaning you think or believe that it refers to a city that doesn’t prosecute immigrants,
generally speaking, it’s a city (or a county, or a state) that limits its cooperation with federal immigration enforcement agents in order to protect low-priority immigrants from deportation, while still turning over those who have committed serious crimes
So in a nut shell illegal immigration is a misdemeanor And states won’t waste resources on non violent offenders
sanctuary cities see 15% less crime than non-sanctuary cities.
For 7th Consecutive Year, Visa Overstays Exceeded Illegal Border Crossings
people who overstayed their visas accounted for 62 percent of the newly undocumented, while 38 percent had crossed a border illegally.

i never came CLOSE to saying the states had the responsibility to enforce federal law. but it looks like blue states are going out of their way to violate federal
law, and that’s different. and the supremacy clause seems to say they can’t do that.
you’re saying states aren’t responsible for federal law, and i agree.
please tell me, then, why texans should have to spend $1 billion a year because the federal government chooses to have open borders, while liberals in MN and VT pay just about nothing. how is that fair to texans?
If citizens of Mass can reject federal
laws banning weed, why can’t i reject federal laws saying i must pay federal income tax? who gets to decide which of us can break federal laws,,and which of us can’t?

you’re denying that illegals put stress in local communities ability or provide education, healthcare, housing, police and social
services.
no liberal policy has ever resulted in a problem! not once! right?
the border mess is going to get worse, interest rates are going to skyrocket, which at best will slow down the economy, at worst trigger a recession later this year.
the one thing he had going for him
was the economy, and that’s now very uncertain.
free advice, hoard cash and get back into the market when it blows up.

you want the open border? why don’t you pay the cost to feed, house, educate, and provide medical care for them?
why does the burden fall

why should residents of TX spend $1b a year in illegal immigration,,because the feds won’t do their job? how do you suppose residents of southern TX feel? does that matter to guys to all?
he’s up for re election in november . if he’s starving his residents, they’ll boot him out.
you’re ignoring why he did it. i’m not saying he was right. but the feds are really screwing the state of TX.
easy to ignore that in new england.
Texans want illegal immigration dealt with. they have valid reasons to want that.
one side of Abbott’s inspection is the impact on tr#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g, and it’s totally fair to discuss that.
the other side,,which you’re ignoring, is the impact open borders have on people who live near the border. imagine owning g a ranch near the border and watching an endless parade of illegals
walking in your land,,dropping garbage and urinating all over the place. those texans pay taxes too.

How so? I'm not up on the details. But commerce coming from Mexico is not interstate commerce. It is not commerce crossing from one state into another. Nor is it commerce between (among) the states. It's not even actual commerce. Inspection is, in itself, not a commercial transaction. I see no constitutional reason that a state cannot inspect foreign goods coming into its territory. But, again, I don't know the details of Abbott's truck inspection.

because the feds won’t do their job?
Jim stop drinking the kool aid the same people running the border are the same people under Trump
Gov. Greg Abbott signed into law a nearly $2 billion border security funding bill that will nearly triple the amount the state spends on border defense in the next two-year budget cycle.
In sept 2021.
Yep 7 months after Biden won how original
Gov. Greg Abbott is using a disaster declaration to help fund a border wall. All a show
But border patrol stops 221k in March so much for open borders and please do say “ how many didn’t we catch”. You guys tried that same argument with mail in ballots and voting illegals ..
Top 3 countries for immigration into the US Mexico China and India
63 % of illegals are visa over stayers
Conservatives just lie and lie ! that have you and their base convinced some Mexican is going to show up at their job with a resume . And steal some white persons Job , or take a hospital bed ..
Yet under Trump But removals remained below the levels recorded during much of the Obama administration, including a three-year period between fiscal 2012 and 2014 when there were more than 400,000 per year.
And for the record I have no issues in deportation
The number of migrant apprehensions at the U.S.-Mexico border rose in fiscal 2019 to its highest annual level in 12 years. The 851,508 apprehensions recorded last fiscal year (October 2018-September 2019) were more than double the number the year before
And guess who was in Office Trump
And Gov Abbott
And yet no Republicans were screaming open borders
So you see it’s hard to take any Republican seriously when they speak about the southern border
Like I’ve said Republicans dishonest to the core …

i’m sorry, i think you’re proving that the border is open. because aren’t those 221k people stopped on our side? meaning they crossed? sounds like an open border to
me.
and what happens to those 221k people? what’s the process? how many are released on our side, set free, as long as they promise to show up in court? who takes care of them?
you proved my point, you didn’t refute it. 221k people made it across the border in a month, based just on the ones we caught.
this is a can’t-lose issue for conservatives . and i don’t deny that republicans did plenty to contribute to this mess. but as of right now, it’s a big losing issue for the left.

Conservatives are teaming with politicians to remove books and gut library boards
Llano joins a growing number of communities across America where conservatives have mounted challenges to books and other content related to race, sex, gender and other subjects they deem inappropriate. A movement that started in schools has rapidly expanded to public libraries, accounting for 37 percent of book challenges last year, according to the American Library Association. Conservative activists in several states, including Texas, Montana and Louisiana have joined forces with like-minded officials to dissolve libraries’ governing bodies, rewrite or delete censorship protections, and remove books outside of official challenge procedures.

what freedoms are texans keeping for themselves but denying to others?
during covid, many parents maybe got their first good look at what’s in their schools. if they see things they fee are inappropriate, don’t they have not o my the right, but the responsibility to speak up?
just because you disagree, does t mean they’re crazy.
you seem to be very committed to the idea that sexual content be in elementary schools. can you explain why? aren’t there okanty if good books for kids that have zero sexual content?
if you think that right now, the right is the side that’s the party of censorship, i’d disagree. who would t let hunter biden’s story be discussed? who’s going after the babylon bee? who doesn’t want Elon Musk bringing free speech to Twitter? And why?

The gateway pundit stated on November 26, 2021 in an article: Because of omicron, “the Biden administration has decided to leave the U.S. southern border completely open.”
The Mexico border has not been left “completely open” for entry into the U.S.
In September, the last month for which data was available, immigration officials recorded 192,001 encounters at the U.S.-Mexico border, including 102,673 expulsions.
No policies have been changed since then that would make the borders more open.
The vast majority of what are known as enforcement encounters result in U.S. immigration officials turning people away at the border.

The American Tr#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g Association left ZERO doubt about how they feel about Gov. Greg Abbott's "wholly flawed" border-clogging inspection "scheme."
In one page statement they called it flawed, senseless and misguided.
