Hi guys- Thanks for the warm welcome about a week back. I have been on the water alot this past week and the Fall run has begun for us here in Maine!! We have been in some massive surface feeds this week. Many of the coves are filled with bait, and we have had some big schools of "peanut bunker" come into the coast as well. Bigger fish outside on the peanut bunker but some days the swells have made it tough to fish the rocks. Thank god we have the protection of the islands because the bay has turned on as well. Life is good......

Captjohn,

Where are you in the bay? I spend a couple weeks each summer in the small pt. area. Caught my first striper as a kid off Popham.

WJM- I fish everywhere from Saco Bay to Casco Bay around Freeport/Harpswell. I know your area well- used to fish the river and small point quite a bit. Run my guide service out of Portland...

Shore maniac- We are right in the peak of things right now, lots of bass surface feeding and still some blues around as well. Things should hang on and be good for the next two weeks. We usually see the bass pack their bags around 1st week in Oct. - depending on the weather. I don't do freshwater anymore (just don't have time). But the smallies should be on fire in some of the northern rivers this month. Not much for pike in Maine - there are a few lakes that have them- but we are known for the trout/salmon lakes, so they want to keep the pike OUT if you know what I mean....
