Unpossible.

I was assured - Guar Un Teed - by a former maritime DEM Director that while they may be there, they will not enter the streams until a specific date, with Buckey Brook specifically April 4th.

And if there was a pic of them you'd prob see about 700 giant "endangered" seals eating them like popcorn....... but don't worry, the seals ordered diet cokes.

Haven’t seen a herring in a run in my area in 20 plus years

From my view it’s the state of MA and local authorities who have allowed the Runs to become overgrown abandoned and in total disrepair
So even if the herring wanted to come back. It’s physically impossible :deadhorse:

The last year we could we netted Herring at Gilbert Stuart and put them in the back of my old Blazer in a 30 gallon barrel with an aireator running off the cigarette lighter outlet.

Ran to Sprague Bridge and live lined under the bridge. Oh my God did we catch big girls!!!:walk::love:

It’s easy to tell when they’re in Tiverton as 100 cormorants take over Nonquit pond.

There’s a really small run near where my older son had day care. One day I slowly drove by and in this little pond that had formed were blue herons, snowy egrets and crested night herons. It was like a freaking zoo.

Back long ago I would net herrng at the Nonquit Dam and live line at the mouth of the Nonquit stream where it dumped into The Sakonnet.

One morning an old friend, Bob Vanasse and I were hammering large. I started to have a heart attack but had my Nitro bottle around my neck. Handed Bobby my rod with a big girl on and put 2 Nitros under my tongue. Took the rod back and landed a 37# beauty. No big deal.:wavey:

The cormorants will never allow for any runs to rebound. They need to be managed

Yes Jeff. I haven't seen Bob Vanasse in 15 years. His wife had MS and passed some time back and I heard he moved to AZ.
