I was supposed to be there that day. Chief Compliance Officer ok'd to start a project so I and 5 others canceled our class there (one other did not and was lost). I fished Quonnie that evening and could see the glow of the fires from there. Eeerie, and no planes in the air either. PaulS 09-11-2023, 02:17 PM Similar weatherwise to today. I was working in White Plains, New York and one of my co-worker's husband was a New York City fireman who by 10 o'clock was sent downtown to help. Good friend's brother died and I knew about 5-6 people who were able to get out safely. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Mike P 09-11-2023, 04:31 PM I watched the second plane hit the south tower from the Belt Parkway in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. I can still relive almost every minute of that day in my head. JohnR 09-11-2023, 06:16 PM I was home sick that day, had my newborn on my shoulder when the second plane hit, Cannot and will not forget. Hookedagain 09-11-2023, 06:41 PM So many years ago and still feels like it were yesterday. The fire service will never be the same. I had an aunt in tower 2, and several friends that were in and around tower 1. It still hurts and always will. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
