Exhaling here.... Results after Dani's cataract surgery were everything we could have asked for. This was after March repair for completely torn retina at Mass Eye and Ear. She was told then that getting sight and color back was great! Eight months of double vision and a growing cataract, which was directly due to the surgery to repair the retina. (They told us that up front.) So the numbers were; before cataract surgery 20/2200 without glasses. After cataract surgery 20/40 with her glasses! It is clear and will improve after eight months of looking through wax paper and the double vision.... Amazing what they can do. And the brain will continue to adjust the two eyes to work together.

Feeling blessed here... and happy to get it done in same calendar year is good too! (no new deductible to meet!)

Holiday stuff happening all over town, but we are sitting tight and being thankful.

Good news Ross, debating that surgery myself for non-shooting eye.

More yardwork and putting the boat away for the winter nap. Maybe sneak down to the river with the flyrod for shad and last bass.

Good news Ross! Playing golf tomorrow, probably heading to my oldest to give him a hand with some assembly of some bunk beds Sunday.

Thank you, all for your thoughts.... But we didn't get to exhale.

She is home now, but we have been to an urgent care yesterday morning, and were then sent to Salem Hospital for Dani's mom. Had gained 4# in two days , legs were swollen and had a bad cough that was much worse than on Friday. So she was "admitted", to the private ER accommodations, which is being surrounded by curtains... Lung infection. They are seeing viruses come through the door they cannot even identify. But she tested negative for Covid, RSV, and pneumonia. Had to stay overnight as her heart rate was high. Once she was asleep, with some help, I picked up Dani to get some sleep. It was after midnight. There were 33 people there waiting for a bed upstairs to be fully admitted! Dani pushed, with the PCP to get her mom discharged to us to continue care here, rather than around so many sick folks.... But she is home. And they both said there were a lot of elderly waiting in there, alone... I guess it is the same everywhere. So best that you do not get sick!
