Get out and check em out. Bring a rod just in case.
So many people say on their bucket list. Sounds like a good opportunity.
Been lucky to see em twice so far fishing backside. Not much different than dodging hood trolls on the way home but Pretty cool.

If we get some breaks in the clouds we'll probably see some.
Noah just raised the solar weather to a G5 which is the worst solar storm we have had since 2003. Expect power damage more N from us. Heck, some things are lining up in such a way that we could have power damages here in New England

nightfighter 05-10-2024, 07:14 PM Thanks, Mike! Don't hesitate to share the info on cool stuff in the skies.
I am hoping my internal clock will awaken me to see them 0200-0300. I doubt I even make the end of the B's game. Been rebuilding a deck this week... I am beat. Likely my last deck. Joists are below the nads but close enough to keep things interesting. Plus, we closed up the 16 OC by adding a 2x4 to keep the composite decking from feeling soft in the heat. And I don't turn around as easily in 13 inches anymore...
Aw man Redlite. I thought you were growing some old school kind bud :hihi:

Hookedagain 05-11-2024, 09:03 AM I was up at 0330 to get ready to go turkey hunting and it was pretty cool. Not so visible by eye but the iPhone captured it nicely.

Yes, phones do a better job than the naked eye.
PaulS 05-11-2024, 03:54 PM A tip: If you are in a clear area, even south of where the aurora is forecast, snap a picture or record a video with your cellphone.
The sensor on the camera is more sensitive to the wavelengths produced by the aurora and may produce an image you can’t see with the naked eye.
JFigliuolo 05-11-2024, 04:14 PM Late tip :(
PaulS 05-11-2024, 05:15 PM They're saying it should be good tonight And possibly tomorrow night also.

I tried several times but cloud cover ruined the chance. Some people in Rhode Island caught phenomenal scenes from 3 a M to first light on Sunday morning. not awake then they actually killed it.

Go wash down a bunch of johhnywalkers and then lie on a beach chair in your backyard tonight, I'll set up some lighting, don't tell the family...if you want sound effects, I have a farting machine - mission completion!
Katie 05-14-2024, 10:37 AM Went out for a drive with Dad Saturday night around midnight - didn't see anything. Looks like the camera picked up a little bit of green. This was a 10 second exposure. It was too cloudy to see anything Friday night.

I checked that box a long time ago. :kewl:
I had a good view from my balcony on Friday night. Saturday was a bust.
