Made a lure that uses the weighted hook from a Storm Wildeye. Very interesting action!
Runs like a rattle-trap on a fast retrieve, tail wiggling furiously. On the pause, it stays horizontal, and glides down at an angle, zig-zagging. When you jerk it, it leaps up at an unprdictable angle, and then angles off again or resumes swimming if you start the retrieve.
The funny thing is, it looks so plain it is almost painful. Like a cedar plug, perhaps. No looks and all action!
Once it starts catching, I'll post more about it.
