Some of you might have already heard, and for others it is news, but Surfcasters Journal officially ceased production of the Night Shift Podcast (the final episode debuted back in 2023.) There has been some confusion to this as the old episodes still show up on podcast websites if you search for them, but they display an error message and cannot be downloaded when you try to listen.

With this all of the old episodes were going to be lost to time, so Jerry Audet and I arranged to take over ownership of the archives and host them along with the new episodes we produce for The Surfcast Podcast. Along with our regular weekly episodes, we plan to rerelease the archives in small batches each month with 10 having gone live so far this year including Chris Voorhies, Gary Soldati, Al Gags, J.M. Basile, Bill Wetzel, Jamie Hawley, Mike Fixter, Orlando Campos, John Johnson, and Larry Wentworth.

You can find our new episodes, as well as the archives when they get posted, on YouTube and anywhere you get your podcasts (Apple, Amazon, Spotify, etc.) You can also find them all on our website, https://surfcastpodcast.com/.

Great move making sure these valuable episodes will be preserved...

It worked out well as Zeno was leaving SJ and we saw the value in the work he had put into the episodes. He kept them going and live for a while on his own, and as we currently have them set up they'll live on for as long as The Surfcast Podcast exists and even further if we leave the YouTube account up.

This is awesome, by the way, keeping the historical record alive.

I do hope the fish come back in our lifetime for another Glory Days

There are some great interviews in the Night Shift archives that we'll be posting including recordings with Dennis Zambrotta, Steve Campo, Steve McKenna, Ron McKee, Will Young, and others.
