I know I know, you guys are thinking, "Where the heck does this kid get all this money?" Truth is, I run a huge meth lab out behind the school. Just kidding. :D . No, I technically don't have this money yet. Anyways...

Looking for something cheap. Nothing too big, nothing too difficult. A kit if I can help it. Anyone see any kits decent amount of price? Like 50-100 bucks? Again, I don't want to dive in too deep. If I mess up, I can use those flies as teasers. Ya know?
I know this name burns like acid, but I saw a kit on Cabelas for an uglystik fly rod and a pfluger reel. You think that would be okay for a beginner that's just starting to hit the intermediate? I know how to cast, I know how to strip, I know how to set the hook, I just need work on distance and aim.

Here's another question. Since this flyreel is a direct drive reel, if it doesn't feel comfortable with my left and reeling, can I just reverse it?

Thanks,

The only stuff I've seen for those prices was crappy looking to a non-fly guy - It must be insulting to a real fly fellow :P ...

You could probably make the rod cheap and buy the reel - or e-mail Saltydog and have him kep an ear out for something used..

Get a Redington Red Start with a Shakespeare Pflueger 1495 Reel Costs new about $170.for the combo. I think thats about the lowest you will find for a decent outfit.
If your realy into it get the Tioga 8 or 10 or System II 8/9 Reel aprox $90 more.
