New England Groundfish Closure Takes Effect April 1
Effective April 1, 2005, NOAA Fisheries Service will close the Eastern U.S./Canada Area to groundfish DAS vessels and prohibit all vessels from harvesting, possessing, or landing Yellowtail Flounder from the U.S./Canada Management Area. The fishery will reopen on May 1, when the new fishing year begins.
