Ferry/Water Taxi thread

Please post your preferred date and time over and back and I will make arrangements for us with John Paul.

I am over Thursday morning and back Sunday morning.

Evan is over Friday morning and back Sunday morning.

Justin is a game time decision right now.

Would like to leave Cutty around 10 AM so enough time to pack and get down there after breakfast

We, Steve and I would like to shove off Thursday A.M. so we could get to the Island in time to scout around and set up as this is Steve's first time to Cutty however we do have a 4 to 5 hour ride to get to the ferry launch site so I would like to know when everyone states that they are looking to catch the "A.M. ferry to Cutty" what time would that be. We would hoping for 9ish or 10ish as earlier would be a pain in the tush...... although doable.

We would like to coordinate with other A.M. fisherman though....

just looking to pin point what A.M. ferry time is.

The way the ferry works is if you purchased tickets online ahead of time you check in at the little shack, they find your tickets, and at that time you also purchase a parking permit and luggage tickets per item as noted here. http://www.cuttyhunkferryco.com/tickets.html

What I typically do is park near the shack, walk in, then return to the car and then drive up to the boat so the crew can load the items, then park, then get on the boat. Sounds like a lot but it's easy.

I highly recommend leaving yourself an additional hour of buffer time in case of construction/traffic/etc.

Linesider82, that is all true, but we use the Seahorse as our first choice to get over and back. John Paul affords us the luxury of making the schedule, and waiting until 4pm to leave the island on a Sunday is a deal breaker. But it has been useful for late arrivals....
 
We are going to shoot for 9, getting their at 8ish. We won't be late unless something really freaky happens..... (stopped traffic for accident for an hour)..

p.s. I am still a little confused on the parking. I know we drop our stuff near the ferry and drive down to the lot a half mile away ?? but at that point we are at the mercy of "hitching" a ride back to where the ferry is ??? is this the deal ?
 
After thinking about shove off time on Sunday both Steve and I were wondering if ANYBODY is coming back in the PM (4ish or so).

The reason we are asking is because it is a great trip and we would like to take advantage of fishing that last day. Leaving at 10am kinda kills the whole day for us and we are now thinking of a pm leave time.

Can anyone advise if they know of anyone leaving in the pm, would that cause a problem with anyone including the Ferry owner.

I will ask Bob Huddy to check with John Paul about afternoon runs. I am sure he does. Other option is late departure on Cuttyhunk Ferry Company, I believe they leave at 4pm. Just one dock over.

If john Paul is a no-go does the Cuttyhunk Ferry Co. drop you off at the same locations as J. Paul's ferry ?
 
John Paul is $35 each way, ferry is $28 plus some fees for your gear bags. Ferry leaves at 3PM coming back.

Just talked to John Paul

Thursday 10AM departure: Ron, Raptor, Trap, Mark and me

Friday 11AM departure , but he may be ready at 10:30 if everybody is there since he is leaving Cutty at 9 that morning: Ross, John, Slip, Evan and maybe Justin

Sunday 10AM departure for everybody or Raptor and Fly taking the Ferry in the PM, he is fine either way and booked us all for now.

Let's share cell nos just in case somebody is running late for the taxi. Mine is 860-818-2671.
