Hi everyone at ST.com, I'm the newbie on board, , born and raised on fishing upstate N.Y., just above Albany, fish for trout ,salmon, pike etc.. most of my life, just started fishing stripers about ten yrs. ago. Because I live N.Y., its hard for me to get to the surf, maybe 2-3 times a year on the Cape. , We do have a large springtime migration of spawners up the Hudson River late March and into June. this brings about 2000 or so up to Albany area and the Federal dam in Troy. The fish are always on the move daily, doing there spawn thing and feeding on the Herring that are also up spawning. I am now making 2 1/2 oz. spinner baits 7"-9" long and bigger for the stripers. Most are Herring color, but I do have some top secret colors I"ve been working on! We do fish about the same as any river fisher would, we don't have long to ply our stratagies during this brief fishing season. Any way, thanks to all for all your forums, waiting for spring and my new giant spinnerbaits!
