I'll be 'teaching' summer school all July, M-Th, 8:30-1:30. I'll have additional paperwork that I can do when I want. I'll have a 3 day weekend for the 4th (and every weekend in July). I have the last week of June off, and almost all of August.
One thing I was considering, was the importance of launching near enough to where you'll fish. My propeller drive is way easier/faster than paddling, but I was wiped out after 5 hours. I'm still getting used to how cumbersome it feels compared to my 50lb, 10.5' paddle yak. But, wow, the benefits...there's several places I catch fish on my river that take 15-20 minutes to walk from one to the other, it took like 3 minutes yesterday, and now (in 2 cases) I know why I catch where I do, after 'seeing' the bottom with sonar.
Family kayaked a pond in Meriden today, as a Father's Day activity. We saw big carp, too

I went cruising around the Housy today. Put in a Sullivans. no issues really. Pedaling is much easier than paddling. took a few casts but didn't really work at fishing. not comfortable with my rod holder set up and my drink holder. I did learn a little about turning--gotta lean into it. No issues loading and unloading solo---phew!
saw a few giant carp!!! I'd love to hook into one of those from the yak. I have caught them from shore. They were in shallow water.
today an easy to see.
Are you on vacation the weekend of the 4th?
