Hookset, I hear you went you talk about where to place the knot. I fish the Cape Cod Canal all summer as well as the beach on the cape and my primary plug to throw when the fish are breaking is a five inch pencil popper. However, depending on how I tie it can radically change how it swims, bobbing up and down, side to side, ect. Now I am making my own plugs and have been running down to the canal to test them out and fine tunning things. People are always asking me what I fishing for in February and March, my answers vary! On that note, if you have any you want tested before the season starts, pick someone up here near the water and ask to test it out for you. Sounds like a fun program really.
