There were 4 of us and we each got 1 fish. The 3 guys that took our stern spot took 20 keepers up to 20 lbs. The starboard and stern did really well.

Swede 02-10-2002 03:23 PM

Its a 100 ft head boat with 3 turbo diesels.. Been in business 4 years i think

GBOUTDOORS 02-10-2002 03:25 PM

Thats what happens every time I go everyone on the other end of the boat gets fish and I get to help clean them on the way back in!!!!!!

Swede 02-10-2002 03:27 PM

This was my first trip on the boat. They nailed a 52 pounder last week on the first trip of the year.

GBOUTDOORS 02-10-2002 03:28 PM

John is going to put together a cod trip for March and I hope to go. If I do and you or anyone else comes along just og to the other side from me and your sure to get your limit:laughs: :laughs: :laughs:

Swede 02-10-2002 03:28 PM

GBOUTDOORS 02-10-2002 03:29 PM

Crafty i know your out there are you going on the cod trip???

Crafty Angler 02-10-2002 03:30 PM

Hey, Swede - The next time you go out, bring some chalk with ya.

That way you can mark the spot where you caught the fish.

Makes sense to me :smash:

Swede 02-10-2002 03:35 PM

This might sound like an ad but i have been on a lot of cod headboats and this one really impressed me. We anchored and moved maybe 10 times. The rest of the boat was getting a good pick and the captain moved because we googans at the port bow weren't catchin.:)

GBOUTDOORS 02-10-2002 03:36 PM

This is about as close as I come to catching a cod!!!

GBOUTDOORS 02-10-2002 03:37 PM

this makes it 170 and counting!

GBOUTDOORS 02-10-2002 03:42 PM

Swede 02-10-2002 03:44 PM

I'm going again next sat

GBOUTDOORS 02-10-2002 03:46 PM

Thats what I do wrong every time I go I forget where the good spots are and have to move all around the boat.:smash:

GBOUTDOORS 02-10-2002 03:48 PM

Thats it I need to do somthing or go nuts think I will head over to boat US and see what new toys I can get for the boat!!!

Crafty Angler 02-10-2002 04:13 PM

GB -

I'm not much of a cod fisherman - I think I'm probably gonna spend the cold weather months gettin' ready for bass - my warm-up is usually trout until the striped ones show.

On the other hand, fresh cod is pretty danged tough to beat...:D

GBOUTDOORS 02-10-2002 04:42 PM

They have a nice heated cabin on most head boats and we could spend the day there and hope that evryone else will catch enought and feel bad for us and send us home with some nice filets. What do ya think Crafty??? Nice boat ride!

Crafty Angler 02-10-2002 04:46 PM

Never done any codfishing, but the sound of fresh fillets is might appealing! :D

But I think the only thing anybody got outta the last SB trip was green around the gills due to some pretty rotten conditions.

Keep me posted!

Swede 02-10-2002 04:49 PM

The first thing you smell when they let you on the boat is homefries, sausage and bacon cooking.

GBOUTDOORS 02-10-2002 04:51 PM

Swede one more and your at 20 OOOOOH AAAAAAAH!

Swede 02-10-2002 04:54 PM

A group of guys were fishing one day along a causeway in Florida where quite a bit of traffic passes by. In between catching fish, drinking beers, and bulls..t stories one of the guys turns as a funeral procession go by and takes his hat off out of respect for the deceased. One of the buddies said to the guy who took his hat off, "gee that was awful nice of you to do that," and the hatless fisherman replied, "not at all, she was a good wife." :D
