You are correct sir, I am 6'2". But, it has nothing to do with 6/2 & even, over and out.

It's from #^&#^&#^&#^& Tracy comics. It is how he signed off on his wrist radio.

Geez I'm starting to feel ancient.

One day a Pirate and a bartender were talking to each other in a bar. The Bartender asked the pirate "Where did ya get that peg leg from?"

The Pirate responded " We were sailing the seas when a big ol' shark came up to me while I was swimmin' and bit off me leg."

Later the Bartender asked "Where did you get that hook then?"

The pirate responded "Well, me crew and I were in a battle and it got cut through the bone."

The bartender then asked " Then where did ya get the eye patch from?"

The pirate said, "In a harbor I looked at a gull flying over head and it took a dump right in me eye."

The bartender was puzzled and asked the pirate, "How would that make you get an eye patch?"

The pirate responded, "First day with the hook."

Goose 02-27-2002 11:03 PM

dude,what happen.

bloocrab 02-27-2002 11:04 PM

I'll tell ya what I did....

...After seeing and hearing some bad stories about korkers....

...for example, losing spikes....and having them loosen up on your feet....and losing them in the surf, or rocks.....when the straps break.

....so what I did, and which was cost effective...;)....I purchased some felt soles with spikes in them....I brought them to a local cobbler and had him attach them to my waders....:D

....Haven't been sorry yet....AWESOME!!!.....

Goose 02-27-2002 11:10 PM

Where did you buy felt soles with spikes in them?? My waders have felt soles. Also,is that perminent?? cuz there are certain places where theres a bit of a walk.

bloocrab 02-27-2002 11:12 PM

I walked plenty in em'....trust me!!!...

.....no problemo with em'....rocks, sand, sandy rocks, rocky sands....lol....you name it....

its coming, chech your mailbox....;)

Goose 02-27-2002 11:14 PM

Goose 02-27-2002 11:17 PM

I'm still overwelmed by all the info I've picked up in the last few weeks. Hopefully I can help others to ...THanx man

bloocrab 02-27-2002 11:28 PM

more info on the way.....

...but like I said, do what you want......:smash:

bloocrab 02-27-2002 11:36 PM

I've got some "back up" waders that I want to put another set on...

...and I think this time around, I may add some spikes to them....I was thinking about cutting down some very big nails...putting a tip on em...and maybe using some washers to help secure them...

...If I do it before you do, (if you do it at all)....I'll let ya know how I made out...

Goose 02-27-2002 11:43 PM

I also thought of cutting the soles off golf shoes, might work. check your pm?

bloocrab 02-27-2002 11:51 PM

give me a sec.....I'm mousing up my idea about the nails....

bloocrab 02-28-2002 12:06 AM

I'm figuring on buying some short, not too thick nails.....cutting them down...re-tipping them on a grinder....and adding some washers to them.....drilling some holes in the soles...and strategically placing them so that they don't interfere with the adhesive part of applying them.....

...I think the soles could use a few more spikes, even though I haven't had any problems with them....AT ALL!!....

....I should follow the saying..."If it ain't broke, don't fix it..."

.....but I'm a stubborn Green!!...:D

Goose 02-28-2002 12:10 AM

I got it http://www.korkers.com/catalog/index.htm

Can you tell me which ones you have? Is it G-7020??

bloocrab 02-28-2002 12:14 AM

I was thinking about some spikes on the outside border....shown in the picture below, but I'm afraid its gonna allow the edge to lift...due to lack of glue....and since you walk mainly on the ball of your foot....I figure if I cover those spots...it can't hurt..

Goose 02-28-2002 12:19 AM

Way ta go bloo! That looks real good. I think the length of the nail is important. Maybe useing (what i think they call) self driving nails used for hard wood floor's, I havn't seen them in stainless.

bloocrab 02-28-2002 12:21 AM

No, I got the ~ K4035 Studded Felt Soles ~24.95

..except I paid $29...

....the model you sent me, is a replacement for the sandals....not a glue on type....

Goose 02-28-2002 12:23 AM

IOU my life wan it now or later?

bloocrab 02-28-2002 12:25 AM

bloocrab 02-28-2002 12:26 AM

I just get a good feeling, knowing when I've helped someone out.....

.....I'm glad I could help you....

bloocrab 02-28-2002 12:33 AM

...Home Depot has it all.....so they say....

....they should have the Stainless ones I need.....:D

Goose 02-28-2002 12:37 AM

They do have it all, including most of my money

bloocrab 02-28-2002 12:41 AM

Goose 02-28-2002 12:42 AM

bloocrab 02-28-2002 12:46 AM

...ta manhana....:laughs:

Fishpart 02-28-2002 07:03 AM

Bloo, have you thought about trying to use SS screws instead of nails? You can probably get them whatever lenght you want.

Fishpart 02-28-2002 07:05 AM

I also recall that gas stations used to insert carbide studs into tires with some sort of hand gun. Haven't found anyone who has one lying around though.

JohnR 02-28-2002 08:39 AM

Goose - they're lifesavers! Simply the best invention for the rock hopper!

Bloo - if you go into production, are you going to have a special "Krabbers" variant? Like this?
