or we could all meet up and go out in force - maybe at the ditch or something...and if someone gets in to some fish, we cell phone each other.

Or just run a mini derby for the weekend....biggest fish wins the pot. shore fish only. We can meet for coffee and donuts at the beginning...and drinks or a barb-b-q after the derby?

I dunno - whatcha all think?

mrmacey 10-19-2004 02:10 PM

3 to 4 days of north east seas building is not good for getting out !!!:(
But I'll be ready next weekend,
For that matter, I'm game anytime all through the winter.

A PERSISTENT AND STRENGTHENING NE PRES

Well My friend as long as we don't see a picture of you bruised and unconscious. ;) good luck to you. Next Saturday is good for my but I have to get home on the early side, I'm running a coffee house at my church. :) Yeah God.

Maybe I'll be driving a boat new to me :) a 20' Chris Craft. I test drive it tomorrow anyone have any knowledge on the 3.0 mercury I/0??

Vectorfisher 10-21-2004 08:41 PM

First thing you want to know is when was the last time exhaust elbow and manifolds were done. Be careful with raw sea water cooled motors that have been used extensively in saltwater.

RI Popper 10-21-2004 08:52 PM

Thanks for the heads up!! I'll have the mechanic check them out befor I buy it. They should make stainless replacement manifolds or sleeves for them. One time purchase. I would be trailoring it and it will definately get run with freshwater after every use.

macojoe 10-21-2004 09:00 PM

Run do not walk away from this!! Run as fast as you can!!!

I am sorry I ever went from OB to a I/O!!! When the OB goes just hang another one!!!

I/O used you are going to sink a ton of cash!!! Salt water cooled will rot out the heads!! risers, elbows, bellows hoses, out drive bellows hoses
A car motor was never ment to be in a boat!!! Rusted oil pan, water splashing around the bilge will kill the starter and every wire will be coroded all the time!! You will spen hours and hours looking for that 1 wire that is rotted!!

Yes I had a bad time with mine but so does everyone else!! Tons and I mean tons of maintanice all the time!!

I have switch and will never never never turn back!!!

Now if the boat is good and you like it and get it for a song you can do like me and solve the problem!! and have a great boat!!

Good Luck!! You will need it if you go I/O

Macojoe, I have alwayse liked outboards myslef but I'm not in the water a lot and I alwayse flush out after each use and it's not left in the weather. I'm gonna just test drive it tomorrow and I'll see how I like it.
