but one of the best things that has happened due to this thread was that i got to really know some really great people, and found out that we all share a common thread ourselves..we are all nuts.. and quite possibly a few of us are certifiable

It helps to be COO COO!

OX 03-10-2002 06:03 PM

Unless we actually fill out 15 posts on #300.........we'll only have 4486 posts.:smash:

redcrbbr 03-10-2002 06:03 PM

redcrbbr 03-10-2002 06:09 PM

picked up a nice 55 gallon plastic drum today.. wondering what would be the best way to use it for a live well???
any suggestions ox

OX 03-10-2002 06:11 PM

I'm with you....if he locks this thread....I won't post on it any more either! Didn't mean to get number 300......was trying to put Go Team on #15 on 299. I never loaded the team banner to my DT.

redcrbbr 03-10-2002 06:12 PM

figure if i lay it down and make a craddle for it. it would worrk the best. have a real nice air pump for it.

redcrbbr 03-10-2002 06:14 PM

you have been so good at sticking the tops of the pages...you deserved it...the red, white, and blue is cool anyways

redcrbbr 03-10-2002 06:16 PM

if there is one thing i really learned from this thread. it is how to dribble endlessly about nothing:p

redcrbbr 03-10-2002 06:17 PM

i see your still working on it though

redcrbbr 03-10-2002 06:20 PM

guess we'll take this to 301, which will put us at 4500

OX 03-10-2002 06:20 PM

If your going to use it for herring or eels....I'd get a dip net and use it standing up. They both like to swim in circles. Also recommend putting a Schedule 80 bulkhead fitting as close to the vertical bottom of the drum as possible and fitting it with same size ballvalve and plug. This to be used to draw off ammonia from herring or slime from eels. Standing it up makes it more stable.

redcrbbr 03-10-2002 06:20 PM

you still floating around here somewhere ox???

OX 03-10-2002 06:21 PM

Sounds good to I.

OX 03-10-2002 06:22 PM

I'll get it to 15......you put up the banner on 301....K?

OX 03-10-2002 06:23 PM

15

I'm gonna go for now....check in later.

redcrbbr 03-10-2002 06:28 PM

using it standing up i would end up cutting like the top third off. my truck has a cap on it. and access could be a bitch. but then again i really don't expect to keep a hundred of them. just don't want to regret making it too small.

shoot didn't realize we were that close..
301

late is better than not at all!!!!!

OX 03-10-2002 06:34 PM

Sorry...I was setting up for in the cellar. Build a craddle for the truckbed with a inch of pitch towards the tailgate and use one of the bungs for the drain.

OX 03-10-2002 06:35 PM

It won't let you put the banner in on a edit?

OX 03-10-2002 06:51 PM

redcrbbr 03-10-2002 09:03 PM

the better spot is about 400 yards to your left on the inside

bloocrab 03-11-2002 12:26 PM

Red, have you ever fished to the right of that spot.....where the really big boulders are??...I've seen schools of fish held up on bait straight out in that picture, dancing around them rocks...:)

GBOUTDOORS 03-11-2002 01:32 PM

BLOO THEY GET SOME NICE TOG ON THE ROCKS TO THE RIGHT!

Tattoo 03-11-2002 01:50 PM

Fish_Eye 03-11-2002 03:13 PM

Fish_Eye 03-11-2002 03:14 PM

Tattoo 03-12-2002 07:26 AM

Mike,

I thought I saw you out there in the wash......but it was only a seal looking for a tasty treat.

How many more days?

Fish_Eye 03-12-2002 03:14 PM

It's already happened. Several days ago a fish around 25-30 pounds was taken on the inside of the hurricane barrier.

A friend of mine was talking with one of the tugboat operators on the other side who claims he saw a small boat go through the opening, then hook up and land a nice size striper. He hailed the fisherman with his loudspeaker and had him hoist up the fish. He said it looked like a 30 pound fish -- he was looking through his binoculars and got a good view.

I think a small boat fishing chunks off Washburn wire in the Seekonk river could expect to hook up a 30 pound plus fish any day now.

bloocrab 03-12-2002 06:27 PM

...I hope they don't show up too early!!.....I need time to fish fer Blacks!!!.....:D

..and the sooner they get here, the longer they'll probably stay up north!!!.... ..its a No-win situation....:D...or maybe not!

...anyone catchin Tautog yet Fish_Eye?....you seem to have the right connections....as well as the left ones....:laughs:

I'm sure I wouldn't recognize it anymore. When I worked for the town, the Junior High on 87 was a new building, now it's almost 30yrs old. This fall when I hit the Big E, I'll have to ride up there and see for myself. Thanks.
