great old classic I heard this morning.
It's a Beautiful Day - Self Titled Debut Album (1969) Full - YouTube |
That is a classic!
Listened to nearly all my Dan this week and picked this one for a bunch of reasons. Mostly because it is the only piece that I can think of with both Vibraphone and steel pedal slide guitar. Unique! As is Dan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9g-Z5nFg5Y |
Luv Denny Dias and Skunk, pedal steel too. Great players.

Funny to see Diaz in the hippy garb. Becker looks pretty enthused to be there.

Snoe. Down this weekend
Raging with the Vermont/NH/NY hippies this Saturday night at Spartan arena in Rutland for last night of Snoe. Down. Heading up with an old buddy and meeting some others up there. Gonna be Strangefolk opening up for moe. Haven't seen strangefolk yet but here they are, along with the headliners:
They have a song called "Rather go Fishin" so they must be pretty decent at a minimum: Strangefolk 3-31-12 Rather Go Fishin [HD] - YouTube 2nd vid is from the new year's run at the palladium I attended. They had fan sit ins both nights which were remarkably good given the fans were average joes sitting in with moe. I was so happy for the lucky fans I practically pissed myself. Fact is they were real good musicians and fit in perfectly. :uhuh: moe. | Plane Crash | Taylor Frederick | The Palladium | Worcester, MA - YouTube |
Have a blast, Mike. You get to see the original members of Stangefolk too which is awesome because that is when they were at their best. Wish I could swing it. Here's something to get you fired up. Nails the guitar solo at the 2:50 mark....

I was wondering the same thing. The lineup posted was from YouTube and seems to be for one track only. Did a little wiki research and came up with
John McLaughlin guitar, production Carlos Santana guitar (track 2) Stu Goldberg Minimoog (track 1), electric piano (track 1), organ (track 1) Chick Corea Minimoog (track 4), piano (track 4) Patrice Rushen piano (track 3) Tom Coster organ (track 2) Billy Cobham drums (tracks 1, 6) Narada Michael Walden drums (track 2) Tony Thunder Smith drums (track 3) Jack DeJohnette drums (track 4) Tony Williams drums (track 5) Alyrio Lima percussion (track 2) Armando Peraza conga (track 2) Fernando Saunders bass (track 1) Neil Jason bass (track 2) Alphonso Johnson bass (track 3), Moog Taurus (track 3) Stanley Clarke bass (track 4) Jack Bruce bass (track 5) David Sanborn saxophone (track 3) New York on my Mind is track 1, and Do you hear the Voices is track 4 An even more impressive list, but no violin. Must have been the Minimoog. Also found "Trio of Doom" which is Johnny, Jaco and Tony Williams. Got to find me some of that. |
Reignwolf
This kid reminds me a little of Jack White from a few years ago. Pretty good for a one man band.

Great Quote..."My wife says I can leave with Jennifer Nettles if she shows up on our front porch. The caveat is that Bon Jovi has to be with her. "
