Thanks MacoJoe...I am pretty sure I will enjoy them just fine! Every set of pliers that I have had previous just twisted every time I tried to remove hooks...and I had some decent pliers. These will do the job, not too concerned about the cutters, but they will be there when I need them. I do appreciate everyones input though. Thanks everyone.:kewl:

I have the the Orvis pliers, that are just about the same as the Able's
By far these are the worst pliers made ,you can't use them to pull a tag end, and they won't cut #^^^^&e. Also the replacement jaws are no longer available. |
I dropped several plyers in the water in the past and I invented a solution.
Here it goes: Cut your old curled telephone line to desired length and make loops on both ends and whip finish. Put duo-lock snaps on both ends, one side for sheath and the other side for the plyer. this will save you all your expensive plyers and fishing tools.:D :D :D |
I got mad the other night when I saw a bag of Baked Lays Potato Chips for $3.39, I wouldn't have believed $240 pliers. maybe there is money to be made making high quality pliers for around $50. If it can be done you would be a hero.

Thought I'd chime in, I too have job lot pliers! I went through 3 this year, I always lose them. I pay @ 1.79. They cut pretty good and there nickel plated.

Rocketman....did you buy the Lays chips or did you buy Pringles????:laugha:

Leatherman Wave........$60.00.... lots of stuff...works great....cuts braid....doesn`t rust.....but my favorite tool when into fish is the stainless Baker Hook Out......Love it...always tucked into the tops of my waders.
