A 9 foot Ugly Stick and a Shimanno 6500 bait runner with 30# Stren from my wife - with the help of a little elf who has been known to post here from time to time.
Also got a pretty cool bait bucket that has a perferated tray that basically lifts the minnows out of the water as you open the lid. It will come in real handy for ice fishing because my hands won't get so wet and icy. But for now, our son loves putting it in the back of his new sit-down John Deer lawn tractor as "cargo". Later, Mike P.S. VERY COOL PIC GOOSE! |
Not too many presents for me. Mikey did get me a 12' Okuma meat stick, though.
Got to spend time with Mikey and we had my father's side of the family's Christmas in the hospital. My grandmother's been in for about a week, so it was nice to spend time with her, too. I cooked Christmas dinner for everybody the next day, then made it back to Newton for 4 to do the presents thing with the girlie. Very good time for me, Rick ps-Mikey's putting his computer together as we speak, so look out! |
Santa stopped to see us in NJ, too, but all he left me was a 6500SS, a renewal to my On The Water subscription, some clothes and the newest Trivial Pursuit game (which is a blast). But like others have said, it's really all about the kids who still believe (I'm sure glad I do!).

it's "always" Christmas here. IF Something good is spotted along the way we say : either a late or early christmas present depending if its before or after JULY 1rst.
i saw a documentary on the reindeer people. traditionally they wear an outfit much like Santa Clause and live in YURTS that are like bigger teepee's and generally round in shape, with a hole in the roof that acts as a dual usage chimney and entrance. In the hole going out is a smooth birch tree to facilitate entering the yurt house. As members of the tribe visited each other for a season's greeting bringing along a sack full of "goodies" they would enter by sliding down the birch tree which by the way was rather blackened by soot from the fire and some would get on their clothing. This is where the origional SANTA got his idea about sliding down the chimney with his sack of presents. He also decided to use reindeer because the reindeer had learned the secret of how to fly. The reindeer people would also rescue a lost little reindeer with no mother and adopt it into their FAMILY so when full grown it would lead the reindeer herd for them. The very first reindeer that was adopted was probably named RUDOLPH.:wavey: |
