Good job there big fella:D

I guess I should throw that pumpkin one you gave me immediately:rolleyes:

that's pretty cool. a night of a lifetime for most of us and on your first trip out with your own wood. You may have to retire and mount that plug as is, damaged ring and all.

Put it in a glass case with a sign "break glass in case of fishing emergency"

Unfortunately, you may have set the bar a bit high.

I hope I am now done puking. I should have been there.
Nice Larry and Sling.

fish talk

Well, now I know who will lead the fish talk discussion next month at the club meeting. Congrat's!

Thanks for the kind words folks.....truely a memorable night for me personally. Just very special and the best part was having a few good guys there to share it with.....Bassmaster, Slipknot and Slingah. :btu: I am gonna have to go some to top it.......but I am willing to try!;)

BEETLE 06-28-2004 01:20 PM

yea, like that 40 lb'r from shore you mentioned. :)

likwid 06-28-2004 01:23 PM

Don't let BM hoe you!

I'll test your bone white plugs for ya! :D

Notaro 06-28-2004 02:38 PM

Larry, try making new metal-lipped swimmers and give yourself another test of your craftmanship and fish-producer title. ;)

Slipknot 06-28-2004 02:46 PM

Mission accomplished :btu:

right place at the right time =
it was my best night on the beach ever :D
I really needed a bassmaster night.
It's a great feeling catching fish on every cast next to you Larry on one of my own needles. I don't see how you could have been any luckier your first night out with your first stash of custom handcrafted wood. It doesn't get any better.

Bobbike 06-28-2004 03:00 PM

Great job Larry, remember the basics,CHECK, knots, hooks, leaders and split rings.
that wasn't the needle U offered me was it ? :smash:

Slingah 06-28-2004 05:43 PM

I tried alot of different needles that nite and my olive/white Habs was hooking up more fish than other colors/makes. I didn't want to destroy or loose the first run plug you gave me with the special color request.
But as it got light it was the go-to. I had to throw it. It worked wonders.
I'm retiring both.
Thanks 4 the plug:D

BigFish 06-28-2004 05:54 PM

As I recall Slingah....you hooked up on the first three casts with that "baby-blue and white" am I correct?

Slingah 06-28-2004 07:33 PM

yup.....first three casts of 2nd round:D
