okay, should my abu setup be spooled with braid or mono? im not sue if a bite detection is required for cod surfcasting.

FWW always makes it a point to mention that he likes MONO for baitfishing - I've read it enough times to remember that. ;)

People tell me and I've read of folks catching keeper size plus cod from shore, but I haven't experienced it. Then again I've never tried from shore. :) I've sea duck hunted many a COLD Jan & Feb so it can't be any worse than THAT! :P

Good. Then I'm all set. I will be surfcasting for cod sooner as long as I finish my projects.
