Eben, Mono will cut down distance big time, you probably would not hook as many fish...Go with a VS250 or 300 and spool it with the nes Spiderwire XDS in 35LB Test. This is the strongest stuff out there. The only problem it is a bit stiff untill you break it in....And Back off on the Drag!!!!! NLot fewer breakoffs! Yes! once the hook is set, backing off the drag a tad makes all teh difference :D

right now i'm using 50lb ppower pro on a vs250.... i just dont like the zero flex that braid gives you...
