gotta agree - i've caught blues with bent welding rod ground to a point with a strip of soda can attached in the outfall canal of the power plant i worked at. :D they eat anything.

I also had an opportunity to try the new Gags lure - swims like a champ, finish and hardware excellent, throws a little further than a mambo. should prove to be a fish catcher - just keep them %$#@!&* blues away..

Just another tease hyped up...lets see the photos please!

Mr. Sandman 12-08-2004 07:10 PM

Everyone has tried these things except me!?!:(
;)

I sense a lot of subliminal tension among plug builders on these threads (not just this one) esp when a new lure is comming out. (maybe its part of the hype?)
It is exciting as a plug user to see new stuff hit the market. When I see a new plug, I first think..where and when might this be effective...IMO there is room for all kinds of things that have not even been thought of or tried yet. You've got your buck a doz jap jigs and your $35 customs....there is something for everyone.

So many plugs, so little time to fish....

peace to all.

I'm definitely going to fish the squidzee in the spring..sounds like a killer plug from what I have read here.

BEETLE 12-08-2004 11:43 PM

Just so you know - the comments i made were on his new creation - the Dancing minnow, not the Squidzee although he did have an unweighted version of the Squidzee to try as well.
Still casts like a missle.

Flaptail 12-09-2004 07:11 AM

I've seen it. You'll like it.

The original thread was probably moved to a "special place", the purgatory where threads go when they get out of hand for one reason or another ;)

I clicked on the link 10 minutes ago and it was still working, but I have access to purgatory :hihi:

tlapinski 12-27-2004 12:25 PM

yeah, it wasn't working so i took it out. have to see if i can re-upload it and put it in here. :smash:

Clogston29 12-27-2004 01:17 PM

You can find a picture if you do a google search for

"gag's dancing surf minnow"

I don't want to post the link because I don't want to get involved in the sponsor thing.

Feel free to delete this post if its a problem. I'm just trying to help.

JohnR 12-27-2004 02:40 PM

I recovered Toby's Pics.... :hihi: from Purgatory

cow tamer 01-09-2008 07:53 PM

What's your opinion of the surface dancing minnow and the squidzee?

plankton 01-09-2008 08:59 PM

Wow, way to recycle a thread! Don't know about those two, but I did quite well with the flippin mullet last fall, nice 2 oz spook-type plug that does well in rougher water.

mikecc 01-09-2008 09:08 PM

What timing Al has a few new lures coming out this month.

I had high hopes for the Squidzee but it didn't pan out for me (Bluefish don't count :hihi: ). It is one hell of a teaser tugboat though

luds 01-09-2008 09:51 PM

The Surfdancer and Squidzee were disappointments but his recent wood offerings have not been bad at all. Particularly the Canal Style pencil. Pretty great deal at 14 bucks at M&D's. Tough to beat.

Hijacked these photos. I'll pass on the jointed needles and stick with the straight back.

Rappin Mikey 01-10-2008 09:32 AM

I'll second that on the canal cut pencil. I think it is called the sea special. I had a seal rob me of an absolute hog in the wash that I caught on one of those this summer at RP. I like the white.

Adam_777 01-10-2008 06:46 PM

The canal special in herring.Never leave home without two.
