It won't be long before you can't tell the difference between a Capesammy and a original. :)

Karl F 11-29-2004 01:55 PM

That will always be easy, the capesammy's are always nicer!

Nice plugs Steve! Here are a few originals. In addition to these colors pictured, I've had a solid gray, and a blue back/ white belly. Not sure what other colors they might have made.

Karl F 11-30-2004 12:19 PM

plug face

Can you post a picture of the plug face? I'd like to see how you finished it.

Adam R 12-01-2004 08:23 AM

CS, the front pin holds a line tie swivel and the belly hook swivel.

VB, I also had a gray one with a white belly...that makes 7.

capesams 12-01-2004 09:29 AM

yes...I thinkthey also used a short wire to connect the swivels to that pin...either that or they made their own very long swivel.

Popper mouth shape

Thanks for the picture. What's the drill bit called that you use to get that cupped shape?

I've been playing around with the face of a few poppers and am trying to decide which sequence gives me a better mouth. Cut the angle then the mouth vs cut the mouth then the angle. Doing the mouth, then the angle cut, I get a pretty interesting mouth shape, deep across the top and shallow across the bottom. Will be curious as to how it pops in the water comapred to the other one. Done several of both...

capesams 12-01-2004 10:27 PM

my skin looks like an elephant's rump

capesams 12-01-2004 10:30 PM

the last one u said to do is the best for these popper's....bluestreaks had a deep mouth top an bottom.
