I love racing all the strategy, pit work, and qualifying times within a thousands of a second determining starting on the pole and 2nd or 3rd, and then to go to a place like Daytona and actually stand there listen and feel 42 cars go by at 190 MPH is just awesome!! I need to get to Bristol bad anyone got tickets??

Everything we do can kill ya.Once you realize that life ain't so hard or so bad.

Happy trails.

Yep, you are right, anything we do can kill us but it is far more often that race car drivers are killed. I do not have the statistics but I would not be surprised if three times as many die on race tracks than football, baseball, soccer, golf and fishing combined. I just do not like or get the sport and apologize for hijacking this thread to express that opinion. Obviously NASCAR is huge county-wide and my opinions are in the minority.

Have a happy (and safe) Holiday!

Of all the sports you mentioned more fisherman are killed nationwide than all the other activities combined.Fishing from slippery rocks or in heavy surf.Lightning.These account for many deaths.Far far more people fish than any of the other activities combined.

As far as pro sports go you very well may be correct. In NASCARs top three national divisions five drivers that I'm aware of have died ON THE TRACK in the 25yrs I've been a fan.Neil Bonnet,Tony Roper,Kenny Irwin,Adam Petty and Dale Earnhart.Others such as Alan Kulwicki and Davey Allison died off the track.Fans have died at races also.If I missed anybody my sincerest apologies.

PS.On a regional level Tommy Baldwin Sr. was killed this year during a NASCAR Featherlite Modified series race at Thompson.

I have nothing to add other than russ is a redneck !

If the drivers want to drive and they know they might die doing it , then Im watching it even in super slo-mo . just like when I wade the surf at night alone , I know I might die but I do it anyway .

its their choice ! watch it or not thats your choice !
