What a great topic! I too have the same dilema as I guess most of us when it comes to wading belt assortment and set up.
The other thing that I find is all the things we do carry on the belt eventually pains the back and cuts into my time fishing. For the Spring of 05, AquaSkinz will be introducing a wading belt with a back support. The support is made of light weight formed foam. It is very durable and does wonders when you are wearing the belt with it. It does cut a little storage space on the belt but your back sure appreciates it. I have used it (quietly) for the last 3 1/2 months of the season and couldn't be happier. We will be displaying it at the shows we will be at and this is the first announcement....so you guys/gals have first knowledge of it. I will try and post a picture for you guys to get a quick preview. Regards and Happy Holidays to all. Kadir |

I went through a best belt search this last season after losing a full belt at Plum Island in the spring...here is what I settled on...
I go into eastern mountain sports and buy the correct length of 2" webbing (about $5)...I like the stiff but I also have one made of the soft tubular webbing for sealing my waders to my body when getting EXTREME...yes, Montauk changed some things for me I also get 2" locking clip and two tie downs (about $3) and there is the belt. On the belt I wear..starting on my right side...Aquaskinz D-ring with lanyard to my shimano pliers...then the Shimano sheath...then an Aquaskinz clip for various items...usually an eelbag...then comes my large Aquaskinz belt bag filled with prerigged plastics (GSrubber, sluggos, etc.)....coming around my left side I put the small Aquaskinz belt bag...pretied leaders in the front flap section...separated in baggies...I put some terminal tackle and a spare knife in the zippered section....coming forward another d-ring with my knife lanyard attached....sometimes a boca can go here but I found a great Hand gaff/hook on a ball bearing handle that fits behind my plug inserts in all of my surf bags. for John R...I found this cool carabiner clip thingy that lets you hang any size water bottle from your belt at EMS for $4 |
