I tried using the 6" storms, and had no luck at all. No bites, nothing. Switched to 4" storms, and landed a lot of schoolies.

today between 3 guys fishing pencils, spooks, surfsters and sluggos....the only thing that caught was 4" pearl storm shads....

Out of all the lures and plugs developed or brought back in the past decade (maybe longer) I don't think anything is as effective or important as the soft swim baits.

I love them. Dead stick technique qorks well in moving water.

When using storms I cast them way out, and just retrieve slow. Does anyone else use the storms and retrieve in a pause/reel/pause method? or a different method?

Slingah 05-29-2005 01:54 PM

jig, bounce, pause, steady, drift, twitch........alot you can do with them....I am about done with them for now.....Time for big wood and eels

FISHING4FUN 05-29-2005 04:04 PM

Ok I will try these methods. I have only casted/retrieve slowly with them. I will let you know how these methods work for me.

Both the Tsunami and Storm baits work well, however if your going with a jigging presentation then I would have to go with the Storms as the Tsunami dont swim well when jigged, however if your just swimming them in the current then the Tsunamis will work good.....Friday Morning around 3am I got my biggest fish of the season so far 28 pounds 13 ounces on a 9 Inch Storm.. :hihi:

I caught several fluke last year on the pearl 4" storms.

While throwing a yellow Bomber for bass I was picking up the occasional fluke. So I started "swim/jigging"the storms on the sandy bottom and picked up several fluke.

Can't wait to try Pt. Jude Joe's butterfish tin with a strip of squid or pork rind.
The fluke should love that.

I tried using the 6" from shore, and caught nothing. No bites either. I switched back over to the 4", and caught a few schoolies. The location where I'm fishing is very rocky, so the 6" will get caught up to easy. I'm going to try the 6" at another spot of mine though. I will post my results.

Or storm the ditch.. Just got back from Pip's. Chunking herring and mackeral wasn't making it but the 6" storms were a big hit. Schoolies to 22" and one big one that broke off.
