A lamiglas 1084 with a VS200G

jim sylvester 03-02-2006 04:45 PM

BESIDES A LAMI 1084 I WOULD HAVE TO SAY A ROGUE 905 PAIRED WITH A VS 200

Sea Dangles 03-02-2006 04:48 PM

XRA 1204 This is truly a do-all rod.Throws bombers, eels, pencils, jigs. It would be a stretch to turn large around rocks but for 98% of your fishing ...:kewl:

I love my rogue but it's tough to eel with because it's so fast.Best big wood stick going IMO one flick and it flies.

piemma 03-02-2006 05:07 PM

lami 1084

theSURF121 03-02-2006 10:44 PM

Tough decision, but a GSB120L for me.

ThrowingTimber 03-03-2006 04:42 PM

All Star 1088 lightweight, can throw the selected range all day and then some. I'm used to fishing with meatsticks and it took me a bit to gain the conf. in this rod but its got the nuts to do the job.

meat sticks...do you mean a 1209 with a VS 300....for bombers:wavey:

John E 03-03-2006 05:07 PM

GSB 132 1M with VS 250. Can throw bombers right up to the biggest plug in my bag. Good with bucktails and pencils. Throw chunks and some lead. Plus it's got the backbone needed to pull a fish out of the strongest current. Long and stiff enough to steer fish around boulders at the base of jetty.

There is almost nothing I can not do with this combo.

Stewie 03-03-2006 05:49 PM

Honey sb1213M, butt cut off 6 inches. With a 7000C3 and heavy braid. I have bunch of rods, but this one always goes with me. always.:bl:

nightfighter 03-03-2006 06:06 PM

Allstar 1265-2

at least until I get my 1088 Rainshadow wrapped.

shadow 03-03-2006 06:37 PM

If I had to have only one rod,I would first want a 10' rod so I can fish the big water when need be,I would also want something that is vesatile could throw 1 to 3.5 and strong yet soft, something that could throw eels and plugs well. There are a few rods that could fit the bill,I like the gsb 1201 ether light or med.would do fine as well as the loomis.

ThrowingTimber 03-03-2006 09:57 PM

MAC Im like a surgeon with that 1209 :humpty:

Slammer223 03-05-2006 10:56 PM

I bet I'd like the Lami XRA 1204 if I could afford one.LOL

1-1 piece
L-light

Skitterpop 03-06-2006 08:24 AM

Production or custom?

Thanks Fishaholic

Is this a Lamiglass product? RA or Surf and Jetty model ?.....or buy a blank and get it custom made?

Sounds like I might need one as it is the most recommended here.

Bass Babe 03-06-2006 09:18 AM

I only used one rod last season, and it's a Tica 9 footer. With budget constraints and all, I've had to deal with an off reel seat and a jiggly eye, but it's still caught me some nice fish.

Goose 03-06-2006 09:23 AM

This thread is makeing me feel so empty...tackle wise. I wonder who has the most sticks.

Lamiglas blank. Same blank series that their Surf&Jetty medium rods are built on.

"Graphite Surf&Bar" (GSB)-blank

"Surf&Jetty" (XS)--factory rod.
