Not many trips down Cape :ss: but I'll still fish the canal and surrounding UDLs. Will most likely really do a hard study of canal to Westport with the Yak.

Raven 04-20-2006 03:36 PM

i still want a yak

the cobra fish and dive
with the "quietman" trolling motor set up on it

because i wanna troll ..i love to troll
but i aint takin my john-boat out into the ocean
no way...

and have some yahoo sink her..... f that..

MAC 04-20-2006 03:37 PM

Last year I made 17 trips to the Race. (125 miles each way) With my truck only getting 12 miles a gallon I see far less trips out tht way this year. I'll be stopping at the canal a lot more. I better stock up on jigs.:vamp:

Raven 04-20-2006 03:49 PM

f the canal

yeah theres fish in there....no doubt about it...

but heres a glimpse at the future ready this year! too

only 50 grand and they are coming up with a two seater...
well i dunno if it'll carry bigfish lol ;)

but what about a 60 pound yak...

rod racks on the side....it would be the ultimate
and its a friggan ultra lite so no pilots license required.
flies with ease like a motor cycle....

check it out my friends... i'm goin for it..

Raven...

Why did the image of that whirlygig from the Road Warrior movie come to my mind, when I saw that :D... Man, I need that.. that would be pisser to beat the cape traffic jams, that are already building .. wonder how much crap I'd get if I landed that on the beach?... paint it in plover camo, I'd be good :hihi:

BigFish 04-20-2006 06:00 PM

People can't friggen drive Raven let alone fly!!!:hihi:

striprman 04-20-2006 06:05 PM

If ya see me thumbing on route 24 with my poles and "tackle" box, please stop and pick me up.

tattoobob 04-20-2006 08:27 PM

Right now I am looking into two spots to store my camper for the Race And Plum Island. If I can get a place close to the beach then travel in the explorer back and forth I would save a ton of gas and money,

Backbeach Jake 04-20-2006 08:54 PM

I'll still go home to Truro every weekend. I'll still drive the Backside.:ss: I'll make my adjustments elsewhere.

bluzjamer 04-26-2006 12:30 AM

It sure sucks what these greedy bastards have done to this country.
Everytime I go down to Gansett I have to think will I at least get a bite to make it worth while. This gas thing is on everybodys mind. Top it off right now I'm laid off! I finally have the time to fish but not enough money to get there.

FishHawk 04-26-2006 04:50 AM

Cut back on fishing to only once a week, which I', m doing now. This really sucks. What gets me is the CEO gets $400 million in a retirement package!!! Well we got a oilman in the Whitehouse. Time for a change. Vote the oil party out of office. FishHawk

afterhours 04-26-2006 06:25 AM

roof racks on the 635csi- 25 mpg, truck gets 15 mpg.

striperman36 04-26-2006 08:01 PM

I got a boat, I got a truck. I live in Mansfield MA. Anybody who wants to meet me at the house and split to cost of using the boat outta Westport MA send me a PM.

Vermonter 04-27-2006 06:44 AM

Well since theyre claiming that gas prices will spike early summer and then go down a bit late summer/early fall, I may plan accordingly. Possible I'll just go down to the Cape for maybe a couple weekends in May and June, work like mad and get the current project wrapped up by late august/early sept and then take 2 weeks off and fish nonstop then. We'll see.

Hooper 04-28-2006 12:35 PM

Lots of inshore fishing to be sure!

Redsoxticket 04-28-2006 01:34 PM

I'll just keep my new SUV at home and ride around in Keeperreaper's new sled. :sled:

It's getting close fellas, a couple of weeks and it will blow wide open.:kewl:

tattoobob 04-28-2006 02:58 PM

The Dad Fisherman 04-28-2006 03:23 PM

Won't affect my fishing at all.....But My kids are sure going to be eating a Chitload of Mac-n-Cheese this summer....:hihi:

Back Beach 04-29-2006 06:03 AM

Close to 3.50 last night in soco, will surely hit 4 plus by July 4th.This will probably not change anything for me as I get out only 1or 2 times per week anyways. Not much to cut back on. Guys who fish frequently will feel it much more. As long as the price of pizza stays down I'm all set.:nopain:

bluzjamer 04-29-2006 07:58 AM

RIPTA---HA.....Now I know what those big boxes on the front are....fish boxes...put your stripers in. I know they will like me with clam juice and some eels left over. Hey bud slide over your crushing my surf stick. Sorry about the sand.

eelman 05-02-2006 06:12 PM

Acually saving money with the boat! I have not filled my truck up in three weeks, the marina is a mile away and the boat gets unreal gass milage! I have been all over narragansett bay and burned 4 gallons of fuel! And caught plenty of fish:btu: And not have to drive down to soco and deal with 1000 people on the beach having fistfights over dink bass.......So buying the boat has changed my life. Eventually I will be down south but for the next month or two I have the fish right in my backyard, and never knew how good it was.......The heck with the gas! Plus the gas tank holds 23 gallons on the boat, I am guessing I can get a month out of that........

Raven 05-02-2006 06:38 PM

more power to ya

#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&!!

you have made a sacrifice in becoming a boat guy

that has paid off in using less gas and at the same time

dramatically increasing your range... Bravo :claps:

Newport: Weekdays up until 1:15am from Kennedy plaza. Sat up until 10:35pm from Kennedy plaza. Return back starting at 4:40 am from Newport on weekdays and 5:35am on Sat.

Ganset: Weekdays up until 6:30pm from Kennedy plaza. Sat up until 3:15pm from Kennedy plaza. Return back starting at 6:18 am from Gansett (beach) on weekdays and 10:48am on Sat.

These schedules work for those all nighters.

Notaro 05-02-2006 10:01 PM

I would fish less because I tend to go to the Cape and RI because I can't afford driving around and burning my tank out. It's a bit over 100 miles one way trip and doubling up for a round trip. I might probably stick to working out and do kickboxing more.
