By the way...glad you did well at msba! |
Heck man, it's still Oct. Even on the worst of season's I was still getting decent bass into Nov, . close to Dec. I know it's over when I see those little heads bobbing in the water.:beat:

why do u think its called fishing ???? been a tuff yr for some n a good yr 4 others.... but here on cape its far from over.... tons of dinks everwhere.......
|
I have had the BEST big fish fall this year in more than 25 years of fishing. Both numbers and SIZES!!! have been spectacular!
However...After a great Sunday 10/22 , have drawn 2 consecutive skunks for the first time this year fishing my usual locations when I thought it would be the best timing. If the weather holds out, there's plenty of quality fish that have yet to pass your way IMO. |
Oh yeah...I'm in Maine.
|
I just got word it is over so clean your gear and stay home :bshake:
|
With this storm coming in and heavy winds, i think it could be great.
|
Thanks Bill... hope all is well.
I had a 34 pound fish last year Nov 16, on my end. So I know they're still running by soco after that. I don;t go crazy after mid NOv, but I still go. One guy I know had 15-25 pound fish one after another in early Dec last year down matunuck. It becomes more luck than skill in the late hours. -Dave |

This weekend will be great in Mid-CT areas. New Haven to about lower New London. The big guys love this up comming weather.

I don't really know how the bass have been... I have to unhook ten monster toothed fork-tails for everybass, but in the last two weeks the bass are at least a decent size down this way.

Still a bunch of big girls in Mass. :uhuh: probably near the end though.

after Friday I think it is coming to an end up here.

Still some decent fish on the N. Shore but its spotty and they definately seam to be moving (coming in waves), as there were last year at this time. Got into a nice group last night with luds48 but once the wind picked up in became pretty much impossible to fish eels how they wanted 'em. Luds did manage a 14" fish on a 9" needle in the wind though.
I really don't think that they're here longer than last year or the year before, just more people posting that they're here and therefore more people fishing later in the year and thus more fish caught, or maybe their just in more obvious (high profile) spots. I know where they were last year (and they were large) and word never really got out. Larger and larger amounts of fisherman fishing later in the season seam to be a trend the last few years and I think the web has alot to do with it (and I admit that it has definatly effected my fishing also, not throwing stones here). Caught fish in the snow on the N. Shore last year and I heard of schoolie blitzes in December up here so shoolie blitzes this time of year are nothing new. There was also a 50 caught up here on Halloween last season. Just a matter of how many skunkings your willing to take to get a quick shot at some fish once in a while. And who really knows what goes on out there once everyone does call it quits. |

Yup, and I'll be back

I hope they will be at Block Island 11/11.

there are still big fish around thru november,my biggest surf caught bass came from ma. waters in the middle of november. fishing live eels. the hits a few but i always found that they were 25 # and up in the ma. surf in november. so don't give up too early, just make sure you dress for the weather as it may be great weather during the day but once the sun goes down it feels like the middle of winter.

Lat year a commercial fisherman told me that he pulls his boat the 1st week of December every year and told me that almost every year he sees Tuna chasing schools of 40lb and 50lb bass out front past Point Judith Lighthouse.
Decide for yourselves whether this has merrit. |

i'm done for the year but not because i want to, my knee just won't allow it. i'm bumming but not too bad, i only fished from mid aug thru late Oct. and i caught a bunch of fish mostly on plugs. never broke 30 pounds this year tho which was kinda disappointing. oh well, there's always next season
