Plan on it Victor! Thanks guys.
|
Love your plugs, #^^^^^^^^^^^&, definitely my favorite wood! New stuff looks great! Is the lipless fathead I've heard rumors about going to be your new take on a bottle plug?
|
Love your avatar plankton :D
That would be correct. You've not ever seen a lipless swimmer like this... |

nice work scott
looking forward to them |
Josh I make the seagar in 2.5 and the 1.25 pencil popper that is a sinker already and the rest are floaters. I've caught just as well on both but the floating stuff like the Sheriff seems to be a more preferred plug. This bottle is weighted real nice and gives a real nice action on top...throws water like a freight train with the size of the head it has.
Herring....hmmmm :spin: |

sweet I'll see you March 30th at da show!

Redsox yes those are both designed to be sinkers. Cast them out and keep tight to them and they will stay right on top with a real nice "slashing" type of action. It's a different technique popper than most make and one that works VERY effectively. The 1.25 is just about neutral bouyant with only 6 grams in the tail and the seagar has 14 grams in the belly for weight. I fish the seagar for a popper in the surf and it's one of my best plugs. That was a design that Makati made years ago that I started making. Very similar to a Cotton Cordell popper except it has squid eyes now and it's wood...and made in the USA.

I eyeballed these over at the Boogerfaction facility and they look schweet... And if Salty can cast them far the rest of us could hit the Azores
|
Scotty,
Once again great work. All of Scott's plugs catch and catch well. And they are solid as hell (I took a 90+ lb. tuna on one farting around one day out on the grounds). Great job Scott. For the money his plugs can't be beat. |
FATHEADS coming soon to a show near youuuu :hee:
EEEELECTRIC SQUID |
I'm on a June 4 day trip chasing yellowfin tuna in the Gulf of Mexico all on topwater - I NEED these things like you read about . . . I still have a handful of the Toona Bombs from a couple of years ago - what's left from what I've given away to guys that have mentioned topwater tuna fishing.
What's the largest yellowfin and blackfin tuna taken on a Salybugger plug :D |
Is this just your take on a polaris or is it supposed to be a swimming plug I am confused.
|
G2 the largest I KNOW of is a 156 lb bloofin. I'd be glad to swap you some plugs for some pics of fish caught ON LURES :)
Riverrat the FATHEAD is a new LINE of lures. There currently exists the 3oz FATHEAD popper... The 1.5 oz LITTLE FATHEAD popper, and the 3 oz FATHEAD swimmer. I will not have enough of the LITTLE FATHEAD or the FATHEAD swimmer done before the shows so the availability date on those has been pushed back unfortunately well beyond my control. A week from tomorrow I am having surgery on a tumor in a joint of my index finger/hand and am out of time to have stuff ready for spring at this point even with 18 hour days 7 days a week for the last two months. I don't want to release individual colors so I'm waiting until everything is ready. |

Thanks Dave. Been pretty quiet about it but since it'll be public knowledge at the SWE show next weekend I figured I may as well tell people the real reason why some of the stuff won't be available. I'm still trying to figure out how to wipe my butt with my other hand... sorry butt I'm trying to make the best of it :hee:
|
Do you have an Ass-istant who could help you out?
Hope the finger turns out ok. |
Try as I might I don't have a come back for that one Paul thanks

Many of the guys on the trip are Asian and fish with some of those CRAZY expensive Japanese plugs $ 50 -100 per plug is common . . . might get a tad expensive when 100 pound yellowfin make a run for the oil rig :wall: I know your stuff will be up to the task. Good luck with the surgery and I'll see you at the Shows. |
