Bob, thanks for posting this and Jim S for all the knowlede. Just last week, I told my wife I'm done fishing the surf with glasses. So many nights I fish blind, due to mist, fog, waves, salt. I usually take them off and put them in my waders since they are useless. Also, on the beach with my kids, I'm not able to see them that well when I'm in the water. Never mind missing all the other wonderful scenery on the beach............
I am a little freaked about putting things in my eyes, but Im sure I'll get used to it. Daily ones would be great since I dont want to wear them all the time.

I hate glaesses fishing. I wear tri-focals. Can't tie knots or hook snaps w/o them. Are there contacts for eyes like mine. Farsighted and nearsighted?

I've been wearing contact lenses and in close contact with the water since I was 13, and I never heard of acanthameba castrilio, but I promise you that starting tomorrow I am going to wash those lenses every day. Thanks Jim, that is a very good piece of information to know.

I've used RainX also on cheap glasses, and the result is not bad. I stopped doing though, but now I can't remember why.

pluses are the water does not bother you as much as contacts. distance vision is excellent, at least for me.
downsides are you will be missing the protection glasses give you. second you'll most likely need reading glasses anyway.

I know we have covered this before, I am considering getting contacts and I usually leave my glasses in the truck because they just don't work in the surf. I was wondering about contacts because I have never had them and want to know a few pros and cons before I take the plunge. What do you gals/guys think?
