Love Mr. Hanney ............" Howdy Mr. Douglas" You will have to get a Hollywood star pig like Arnold Ziffle, sunglasses and all. Do you have to climb up the telephone pole to make a call in your neck of the woods? |

LET there BE LIGHT
thankyou kindly Chris L
ok you want pictures of progress on todays little project... OK well i am a little tired now....but feel like i accomplished something... my very sweet wife helped me install that heavy S.O.B and so... it went in pretty easy actually. We did some major renovations to the ole Barn we were tired of how dark it was facing EAST so I grabbed the skill saw and saws- all and cut a big old hole and installed a Free vinyl window into that wall for much more light for a transition and over flow space. the truck you see outside is just an antique body and is my super funky :agree: water tank...thats got a 500 lb chunk of ice floating in it at the moment....lol http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...b1/window1.jpg this next picture shows the awesome glass i got from a super cool guy "JIM " aka Bite-me who traded me for a Salty Bugger plug... they were 4 feet wide and with-em i created a glassed in section http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...ob1/window.jpg this next picture is the green house complete with a sink and new shelving... and that great big old Meat hook is for when i run into East end LU next... as my chickens all chipped in and took out a contract on his ass... :o http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...house-done.jpg and lastly this is a older picture of a green house operation we did and all the plants we grew to set out in the big fifty by fifty...plot thats my awesome ole Lady in the foreground and i have to build a green house this size this year... too.. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...greenhouse.jpg |

Raven, Paul, anyone...Spurge, Euphorbia. Are you familiar with the perennial?
I have a bunch of clippings from it and was thinking about soaking before planting. The plant likes drout. any suggestions? thanks |

i have never seen it before sorry...
but if it likes drought try just a plastic bag over it... in a succulent soil mix... use very little water or it'll rot. Paul might know |
Never seen Hens and Chickens that tall, that is not to say that it is not. It is a very common plant in gardens and rock gardens and die back a lot but reproduce readily. Where did you get it? Can you see parent and how does it look like it spreads. Looks like a succulent though.
Could be a spurge http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:E...myrsinites.JPG If so it should be very easy to root as most are. I don't think I would soak it though. Are there any roots at all? Might just stick into some moist soil in a pot and see. It is an outdoor plant right? Really not sure what you have there. |
Thats what it is, the plant in your pic is the same. What I know about it is...its invasive, Euphorbia's can give you a rash and is milky when broken like poinsettias. They do well in gravel paths or near stone steps but I seen them everywhere else too. I wasn't sure where to start the root system in water or soil. They're long shoots drape on the ground, some plants has 5-8 shoots like in the pic.

for me
i just want to kick the living B out of that plant
and then i'll be one with the universe :hihi: |

also the best sand is not to fine or course (like the white sand you can buy for kids sandboxes) and keep it warm and evenly moist not soaked or too dry....but you probably knew that already! |
awsome Jenn. thanks everyone. wouldn't it great to have a yard thread;) instead of hi-jackin

If that is spurge then watch lawn fertilizer with weed killer as it is designed to kill spurge.

Rav is the weed Nazi Yard thread would be great. We could stick to the thread and then no one would know how strange we are. |
a play on the word
without the B it becomes euphoria
hitler never smoked weed - that A-hole which is why he was trying to conquer the world never insult such a peaceful plant with a NAZI reference thats just so sacrilegious.....and wrong...:hang: i have none... but the door of perception got kicked down...so now to cross over to cosmic (artistic) thinking is easy as pie... |
Good luck Raven. I have the farm bug a bit myself, but right now it is limited to a fairly small garden and a tractor. If the bass weren't so far, I would probably end up back in PA on a farmette. You also bought in a great area. I tried to convince my wife to find a job so we could live in that area when we were in grafton during her tufts days. Those were the days. She studied and I spent my time split between disc golf at buffumville dam and night runs to the canal.
