Looks great. I think since you are such a big fan of Franks you should call it a Zappa:hihi:

BigFish 10-25-2007 02:01 PM

:rotf2:I was thinking of that Paul...really! I know what you guys are saying is right.....so Danny it will be then....let the chips fall where they may! Danny Pinkney would have wanted it that way I bet!!:)

Sometimes its a struggle to try and do whats right?!

ProfessorM 10-25-2007 02:11 PM

LOL . I couldn't resist. Good luck with your decision

Maybe not that they are a hard sell as there are many different builders who make them and I need to test the market before I go too crazy! Its hard to get fishermen to try anything new!

Many make them. Not as many make them right. Or they're extremely rare and/or expensive. There's definitely a market, in my opinion.

Striperknight 10-25-2007 08:22 PM

Call it a Larry. That was the best idea.:jump1:

saltydog 10-27-2007 04:27 PM

Im in for a Black scale and a Wonderbread,at least.
GOOD LUCK GOOD PLUGGIN

yup. there will be a market if they swim right and are relatively easy to get (available). problem is that alot of people have bought some of the new danny's that come along every once in a while and are disappointed. eventually they give up on buying and being dissappointed and spend their efforts trying to get their hands on the "rare and/or expensive" ones as Pete said. Just look what a BM or RM Smith danny gets on ebay and SOL. If your danny's swim right, and I'm not trying to imply that they won't, and you can get them out to some experienced and impartial testers and develop good word of mouth - I think you'll do really well with them and find a market. The impartial thing is the tough part. Everybody kind of kisses everyones ass on these sites when it comes to plugs (usually trying to get free stuff) and it gets to the point that you can't trust 95% of the opions on plugs given here, especially plugs made by sponsors (kind of a "he's one of us" thing).

Rockport24 11-01-2007 10:34 AM

good comments Josh, sooo... Larry you suck, prove me wrong... I'll test some out?? :jester:

Clogston29 11-01-2007 01:06 PM

wasn't trying to imply anyone sucks, hope it didn't come off that way. just pointing out that its tough to get good word of mouth going because opinions get so watered down, and that seams to be the most important thing when it comes to marketing and creating demand for plugs.

Rockport24 11-01-2007 01:49 PM

sorry about that!! didn't mean for it to come off like you were implying that Josh... I know you weren't... I was just making light of your quite true observation that it's tough to find impartial plug testers, so I was just making a joke taking it to the other extreme...sorry if it didn't come off that way... damn internet, it's tough to be sarcastic!

oh yeah I'm not impartial to Larry's plugs because I mostly only use his blitzseeker for topwater stuff!! it's a great plug and I almost cried when I lost one this weekend.

chief10 11-02-2007 08:48 PM

Nice plugs! How about the "Bad Larry":devil2:

save 2 for me

NIB 11-10-2007 11:37 PM

6.25 inches and tree ounces sounds like a NIB plug .
Not that I have made anything to deserve the credit.

Anyways I think U should call it the "NIB"
I have a idea what to do with the NIB..
U can say thro NIB at a bluefish.. Wreck-a-NIB..
See the possibilities are endless.
Looks good Larry..
Good luck..

BigFish 11-10-2007 11:42 PM

Thanks NIB! I will keep that name in mind!;)

Finatic 11-11-2007 08:57 AM

Larry, if you're keeping a list, I'm in for a white pearl and a black scale.
If they swim like they look, BINGO!!!

Flaptail 11-13-2007 01:43 PM

Why not just call Dan Smalley and ask for verification of the trademarked name? Seems a simple way to end the controversy.

And while we are at it how's about a needle or two in the line up one large and one medium?

Slingah 11-13-2007 06:11 PM

I wouldnt call it a Danny.....it's a swimmer.....
call it the "3D" Swimmer.....

Sea Dangles 11-13-2007 09:11 PM

Dan Smalley;yeah call him. He's a real stand up guy. Forget the information on the patent research and call the guy who stands to lose money. I'm sure he will bend you over backwards to help you.

BigFish 11-13-2007 09:34 PM

Mine will have a different name......something simple......people will refer to it as what it is and what it always has been.....a "Danny"!

Charlie G 11-14-2007 05:41 AM

Sounds harder naming it then building it Larry. "Build it and they will come"

Jigman 11-14-2007 01:53 PM

Larry,

Be different. Call it a Danni. Cause she is all dolled up for a night on the beach in hopes of being used and abused like a $20 ho :bl:

Jigman

eastendlu 11-14-2007 02:32 PM

Send me a free sample and i'll have people calling it a fish catcher.

Skitterpop 11-16-2007 07:17 PM

Big Fish Dannys not Donnys :musc: Its only the typeface they own. Anyone can use the name Danny.

Nice work Larry :kewl:
