So would you start at the top and work down or at the bottom and up?

I have never seen the stairs in person, but after looking at the picture a bit.... if you could establish a good set of footings, you would have a 50/50 chance of doing it from the top down, a section at a time. But one set of weak footings or piers and the whole thing would shift...down. While the very bottom flight shouldn't be carrying the weight of all the other flights, (each flight should have its own supporting footings) I would rather build up, knowing what's underneath me (and above me) isn't going to move. Be a beotch to get the stock delivered though.....

And I'm sure #^&#^&#^&#^& would disagree with everything I have said here....:hihi:

luckily, they're in better shape than the stairs on cutty
